My son Thomas and I just returned on the 19th from 10 days in Japan. We were able to go on a 3 day Tiger Cruise on her ship. What a wonderful expereince! Katie went to DC school with Donna's Stephen and they still keep in touch via internet.

Hi Girls,

It's nice to see that there are still a few of us that check our origninal site. Congrats to you Ruthann on a second sailor and your ability to attend his PIR. PIR is a milestone in my son's life that I will never forget. Lafe was adopted on Thanksgiving 08' during bootcamp by Stephen's parents Donna & Max along with their daughter Rebecca. After PIR, Lafe & Becca started dating long distance. On Dec. l9, 2009, they were married in GA a week after Becca graduated college. In Jan. Lafe graduated nuke power school in Goose Creek, SC. We were able to fly in for the ceremony, which was as wonderful as PIR, but much more personal. A few weeks later, the newlyweds moved to Saratoga Springs, NY, where Lafe is in Prototype. He will finish his schooling in mid Sept. and then be assigned to a base, hopefully on the west coast. He is looking forward to finishing school and getting an assignment.
In June we went to NY to visit the kids and take our youngest daughter to NYCity for graduation.
Patty, The art work that Jillian did was amazing.
Colleen, Are you still stationed in VA? Donna and Becca were there a few weeks ago visiting Stephen.
I hope all the rest of the Cheetahs are doing well and my love & prayers go out to all of them along with all their sailors.

Ruthann that is wonderful! I do remember that and I also remember talking to you on the phone the night before when we all had our get together. I am so happy for you! =)

Hi Cheetahs!! My goodness...has it been already a year and a half since our sons PIR??? Well..just want to share some news. My 2nd son will be an official sailor in two days. His PIR is 7/23 and I AM GOING!!!! Yes...I do know tht some of you remember when I couldn't go to my oldest sons PIR and I was torn up and devestated...however, my financial situation has improved allowing me to attend. I will soon be the Mom of TWO sailors. Just wanted to share the news with my Cheetah girls.....

Oh, Patty, I just saw the post about your friend's son! How is he doing? I can't believe how tough things have been for him! I will be praying! Please keep me posted.

We have to keep praying for all of the Service members all over the world. Our Sailor is aboard the USS Ashland LSD 48 and was just in the news, not good but was lucky and all are safe. We knew that being in harm's way was a possibility, we just hoped it would never happen. See the link below.
