Navy For Moms

Okay, here it is...let's all get some new ideas. Here's my favorite:

Preheat oven to 350.

1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2/3 cup lt. brown sugar, packed
6 Tbsp. butter (or margarine)
1 Tbsp. water
6 oz (1 cup) semisweet chocolate pieces
1 egg
Pastel cream mint kisses (like Hickory Farms sells)

Heat butter, brown sugar, and water over low heat until butter melts, stirring constantly. Add chocolate, heat and stir until melted. Pour into mixing bowl and let cool for 10 to 15 minutes. In separate bowl, mix flour and baking soda. Set aside.

Beat egg into chocolate mixture. Add flour and mix well. (This can all be done by hand as the dough isn't very stiff until chilled.) Cover and chill for 1 to 2 hours. (Make sure you cover well, or it will dry out and get crumbly.)

Shape into 1-inch balls. Place 2-inches apart on cookie sheet and bake for 7-8 minutes. Remove from oven, and place mint on top of each cookie. Return to oven for 1-2 minutes. Swirl the mints with a knife to frost the cookies. (When you pull them out, the mints will look unmelted, but once you push on them, they will spread.) Remove from cookie sheet and cool until mints are firm. Makes about four dozen cookies. (But they won't last long!)

Now it's your turn!!!

Whoops, forgot to name them...They are called "Chocolate Mint Creams".
SEVEN LAYERS BARS

1 Stick Margarine melted in pan.
1 Cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 Cup Angel Flake Coconut
1 Can Condensed Milk
1/2 Package Hersey's Milk Chocolate Chips
1/2 Package Hersey's Butterscotch Chips
1 Cup Of Your Favorite Chopped Nuts

Layer all ingredients in order listed in a 9x13 cake pan. Then bake at 350 degrees for about 20 min or untill it starts to pull away from the side of the pan. Let cool and then cut into squares. Very good but also rich.
Easy and yummy...what could be better?!? Thanks, Tracy!
Hey girls those both sound delicious! Here is my famous recipe...RICE KRISPIE COOKIES

Preheat oven to 350
1 stick of Butter (softened) 2 C. of Rice Krispies
1 stick of Oleo 1/2 C. Chopped Pecans
1 C. Sugar 1 Tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 C. of Plain Flour
1/2 Tsp. of Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp. of Baking Soda

Cream butter, oleo, and sugar together until fluffy. Add baking soda and baking powder to the flour and mix well. Add flour mixture to to the sugar, butter, and oleo. Stir until well blended. Add Rice Krispies and stir until blended. Add nuts and vanilla and blend together.
Dip a scant teaspoon and roll into a ball. Place on un-greased baking sheet abd press with a fork. Bake @ 350 for 8-10 minutes. Let cool slightly before removing them to foil sheet. Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
NOTE: These go over so well that I usually double the recipe!
They are not hard to make...if they stick to your hands to much just refrigerate the dough for a little while!
I also put red and green sprinkles on them for Christmas.... red for Valetines.....pastels for Easter and Spring...etc! Denise
Honestly this is the only cookie I've EVER asked for the recipe for...wonderful!
Can't wait to try these! Thanks, Denise!
