I agree.  I started a group a couple weeks ago and only have received a couple responses.

Hello Ladies, I finally got a letter thee days ago, still waiting on a call.  He said they are really busy and he too is waiting on the opportunity to call home.  I ask him to let me know if any of his shipmates have not been receiving any mail and I will send them cards also. I can tell he had not received any of my mail as of Dec. 24, the date on his letter.

Ive sent nearly 20 letters out and he had only gotten 1 as of the 26th. I dont know why that would be But i hope he gets the rest of them all together! that would be a nice suprise! I would also like to know the name of SRs not receiving mail. It would be nice if we can send a little something to each recruit to thank them for their service and give them hope.

The letter I received dated 12-24 said they were suppose to be able to call home today, so lets pray that no one tried to sneak out or did anything dumb.

no phone call, my son;s letter said he thought he would get to call i waited by the phone all day.he also said they didnt get to call on christmas cause someone snuck out. makes me wonder whats going on. he didnt receive any of my letters until i think the 23rd he said he got all 16 of them then and it took him over an hour to read them all. he said he meet some really good friends. his bunkee is from north carlilona. my son is from indiana. he said his RDC were pretty cool and he was lucky to have the ones he has. he said some of the other div were hard core, now im looking forward to wedensday for another letter.hope to get a call soon. i wonder can they only call on sundays?  he also said there days are full they stay really busy and time is going fast, and they have good food and alot of it.  my son also said he felt bad for some cause they didnt recieve any mail. i wish he could let me know there names i would write them and send them a card to.

So far only one letter to me and no phone calls.  I live in Texas so coordinating the PIR events is challenging to say the least.  I have no clue if he will have a weekend of liberty or ship to A school directly.  We will probably gamble and get flights from Thursday - Sunday afternoon.  What specific hotels does anyone recommend that has nice rooms, in-room internet and shuttles to the base?   Any and all help and advice is appreciated.

Broker, I'm also from, DFW area. I went ahead and booked the flight today for some reason AA fees are cheaper on Monday's. We are leaving Thursday afternoon and coming back Sundy evening. We are staying at the Residence Inn.

I was thinking of booking southwest so I wouldn't have to incur any cancellation fees, if something happens.  What airport are you flying into?   What city is residence inn at?  Does it have the shuttle to the base?  That is what I am looking for, even though we will also be getting a rental.

Hey! Glad to see a DIV 070 group. I've been out of touch as my mom has been in ICU for a week.. we've gotten 1st form letter, surprise call when SR was having security clearance and one day of letters last week. Hope for another tomorrow!
