Nancy,
Yes Will was in the honor guard, he was in the front, with the guns, not the ones where they were dropped, he was in the group that preformed in the front of everyone like half way through. I hate it took you so long to see Brad. We had the privilege of meeting Brad Sunday am at the NEX when we went to pick up Will. What a nice young man. He talked to Stan (my husband) for a long time while I shopped for tshirts and such. I was really hoping to meet you, guess we will have to stay in touch online. Have a wonderful week and Congrats to you and yours.

Paige,
I'm sorry we were never able to connect this weekend. When we FINALLY saw Brad on Friday, I asked him if he knew Will. I was amazed to find that, out of a group that large, they had become friends. Was Will on the floor at all during graduation? You mentioned he was walking across and then leaving. Brad was never there and it took FOREVER to see him. They announced twice that the building was closing before we even saw him!

We really did enjoy our weekend and are so proud of Brad, as I am sure you are of Will. It certainly was an extra treat to wake up to all of the snow on Sunday morning!

My son's PIR isn't till Apr 24 but I'm on pins and needles along with you about hearing whether they passed. It's so nerve-wracking!

But it's Saturday now and the ceremony is over, so I have a question for any of you whose SAILORS (not recruits anymore!) stayed at Great Lakes for A-school. I know it could be different for everyone, but how did that transition go for you? Did any of you bring laptops or cell phones or cameras or whatnot to hand off to your sailor? We're planning on bringing his "stuff" to him when we come to PIR, but I'm wondering if he'll be able to have it. I've heard different things about that so I'm wondering what your experience was.

And, of course, any other reflections/advice about the PIR weekend you might have. When you recover from the weekend, that is!

Congrats to all of you for surviving boot camp!
