I hope she's enjoying Virginia Beach. It's pretty fun here with a lot to do. Angie will be coming here soon as she is getting close to finishing up A school in Chicago. She's going be attached to the USS Carl Vinson and should be here for at least the next 18-24 months. Hopefully we'll get a lot of time to hang out together and get her used to living in Hampton Roads.

I too miss you boot camp Mom's, So I visit this page and a few others to try to keep up. Ashley is loving A school, she is in Virginia Beach for Master at Arms training. She was put in charge of her class, so everyone has to report to her. But being in charge has its disadvantages too. Last week when they did OC spray (pepper spray.. sprayed directly in your eyes) As leader she was first to feel the pain. But she did well and made sure that no one over reacted to it. She is now in the middle of weapons training and she is doing well and loving it. She has scored high on all of her tests to date. Lets stay in touch, drop me a note or post to let us all know how your sailors are doing. Looking forward to updates from all of you.

Its sad to see this board quiet! I miss all my 6/6 PIR friends. Lucky that a few of you are with "me" in Pensicola, but how is everyone else doing? Jeff seems settled in now, just started Phase II, not sure about is AE classes yet. We talk all the time, which has taken away the angst of boot camp!
Lets stay in touch! Let me know how you all are doing!

The weekend was the best!!! I agree with you all! I couldn't let go of my son either! Nor could I stop crying! I had to have someone else take pictures of us. They didn't turn out as well as I had hoped but at least I got some of us hugging for the first time in what seemed like forever! I talk to him every day now and can't wait until I can see him again! I got to meet a few of you and wish I could have met more! Maybe we will all cross paths again one day with our sailors! Congratulations to all of our sailors!!! DIVISION 207 ~ HALL OF FAME!!!!!

I agree with everyone's comments about PIR. It was an amazing ceremony, the anticipation of seeing them was almost too much!! Seeing them in their uniforms was a very welcomed sight after wondering and waiting. Now they're Sailors and on to school. At least now we can have much better communication with them. It was really great to meet some of you and for the ones I did not get to meet maybe our paths will cross one day. Take care......Danielle

What an amazing weekend! I agree completely with you Sherry - It was more difficult to leave Jake this time than it was to send him off to bootcamp. Not sure why, but it was.

I am so unbelievably proud of my sailor! I too hope everyone had a wonderful time and made it home safely!

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND! I am so proud of all our sailors... the graduation was wonderful--I wanted to just hold on to my son. It was harder to leave him this time than the last... last time he was a little boy who I knew needed the service... this time I was leaving a man who was headed somewhere...without me... for a mom that's hard. But I am so proud...
Hope everyone made it home safe and get some rest... if you are like me; your TIRED!

PIR was wonderful! When they open that door and our Sailors started marching in I was shaking and crying all at once. I couldn't stop staring at my son all weekend and hung on every word. It was so hard to leave him but we are so proud and know that he has many adventures ahead. It will be so nice to chat on the phone after all these long weeks.
It was so great to be able to meet the Moms face to face that I had been corresponding with on this site. We instantly had to hug each other. I guess we have formed a bond as our children have through this experience. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
I guess it's time to join A School Moms now : )
