Hey, Wendyloo, of course she passed. I'll bet you feel much more relaxed this evening than you did last night. I am actually going to drive down to Pensacola to see Jake's A school graduation, drive him back to Michigan, and then transfer a vehicle to his name, and he'll be off to CA. Point Mugu looks like it will be OK - several State Parks nearby and also Channel Islands National Park. He won't be home for long, but that's OK. I want him to have good adventures.

Wendyloo
Congrats to both of you. Your daughter for passing and you for making it through another one of the stressful situations all us moms endure.
Enjoy your time while she's with you.

Well ladies she passed! Yay! She's done with her tests. She'll have labs and clinicals and then home sweet home!

Cindy - thank you very much. I guess I can call it the mom-butterflies (in the tummy). I know I was more nervous than they are.

That's great about Jake. I'm glad that he got a duty station that he was happy about. This one girl from my daughters class was last to pick and she didn't have a choice at all. She got a place she is so upset about getting, but she knows that's all part of the military life. Still I can't help but feel bad for her. I wish I could make it to her Corps School graduation, but I am glad that I at least got to see her a couple of weeks ago. She is so well adjusted and I got to meet one of her really good friends as well.

Ooh, Wendyloo, you will be spending the day on pins and needles - kind of like waiting for the call that comes after battle stations. Your daughter has been doing so well up to this point; she will be fine. I know - easy for me to say. Jake got his orders yesterday. He will be at Point Mugu, CA for two years - shore duty. He seems quite pleased with that.

Okay ladies. Tomorrow is a really big day. Test 12 is tomorrow and it's their last test. They will have clinicals within a week I believe and then finally graduation and home on leave! I will be saying a lot of prayers and also a nervous wreck tomorrow until I hear from her.

I hope everything is going well for all of you. I miss you guys. Take care.

Friends, careful about sharing last names on this site. I think it's a big no-no. Use personal messages instead.

Wendyloo and Katatlanta,
what are your sailors last names.....my sailor is trying to figure out if he knows them. I was telling him a Japan
Navy Ma Comment by Navy Ma on October 25, 2009 at 11:47am
Katlanta,
Yes I have joined the GW group. Have gotten loads of info. Got to talk to Cory for an hour Friday (morning here, night there) Noone around so he got to talk a while. Told me he just got back from a night on the town (nearby). It was 9:30 pm there. Early night, I thought, he had duty and had a few things to do, eat and such.
He has his computer and I am able to write to him but, am still waiting for the ship to come back so I can get an address for him to send the webcam.
I believe I have lost Cory to Japan he too also goes on about how cool and neat everything is. Is impressed that there are no people standing on the streets holding signs, how proud the Japanese people are and how hard they work. Lets not forget the food, can't stop talking about how much you get for a small price. The history he has learned about the country is amazing, he's a 6'4" walking sponge. I don't fly well, don't like heights but, will if I have too. Would not pass up a chance to see him though, even if it means being on the plane for 30 hours. Would figure something out for nerves.
Tell John to look for SC Cory Bausman would blow their minds to meet each other via moms.
Still waiting for him to send me pictures but, I know he's on information overload and will cut him some slack. lol
Take Care

morning all!
hey navy ma - john is STILL gushing about how much he loves Japan! his latest facebook entry was to say he was going for food in the galley or to go try some other japanese restaurant - so apparently our sailors in japan have some freedom to get out and about. john bought himself a new iPhone and was able to text his sis the other day. all he keeps saying is how awesome everything is there. man - hope he still wants to come home some day! :-) - but also his comments make me want to be able to hurry up and go see him there! any chance we alumni w/ kids in japan could see if we plan on going at same time? I personally won't even be thinking about it for at least a year (planning but not going for at least a year) have you joined GW and/or Japan groups? very informative info there if you haven't - plus a whole other group of moms to befriend.

on my way out for a brisk walk - have a great day all. kat.

wendyloo - enjoy your daughter and this trip! I am from chicago and while there are things to be annoyed by (as is true of anywhere), I just love that place. I am just so proud and happy at how well ALL of our kids seem to be doing - happy w/. their choices, growing up, learning new things, etc. etc.

Well ladies. I'm sitting up here in Great Lakes looking out my hotel room window. It's cold and kind of rainy right now. I got into town on Thursday and couldn't believe how quiet the area was compared to when we came up for their PIR. Then I checked the Navy website and found that there was no PIR scheduled for the weekend. Wow. No wonder it's so dead around the hotel. It sure is different to come up here just to visit. It's even better that on this time around she can stay in the room with me. YAY!

I've been picking her up at her gate down on the "Corps Side". It sure is different on their side than on Main Side. They are like in their own little area and world over there. Kind of neat actually. The train station is literally across the street so they don't have to walk far for that either.

I think today is just going to be a mom and Sailor (lol) shopping day with a nice lunch. Speaking of food ... if any of you ever have any reason to come back to the Great Lakes area, might I suggest a breakfast restaurant called Wildberries. It's in Libertyville and it is awesome! =) Anyway, take care and hope everything is going great with all of you and your sailors.
