Hey, Wendyloo. Sounds like your sailor will be having a good time. That's great that she can spend some time at home. And it's also cool that she is really excited about her next duty station. Jake is doing well. I think he's ready to get out of Florida. I'm leaving this Friday, and I'm going to poke my way down there, arrive on Sunday, and he will be cut loose Monday A.M. He will spend a little time in Michigan, and then he is driving to his next duty station, which is Point Mugu, CA. He also wants to get there early to enjoy the trip and check out the area. I think he is really looking forward to it. He's never seen the west coast.
Hope everyone has a very nice Thanksgiving Day. We have a lot to be thankful for.

She will be going to Portsmouth, VA. In fact she and another Corpsman who is also in her class are driving there from Florida. They want to make a little side trip to her sisters house in NC. We'll have her for 5 days all to ourselves until her friend flies down from Minneapolis. I'm betting they head out a little early so they can get to the duty station early to see what the town is like. If they can't get into their BEQ's we have a cousin that lives a few blocks away from the Naval Hospital and they can stay there. It's so exciting for me to see how excited they are about starting this new chapter in their lives.

How is your Sailor doing? How's he liking our wonderful Florida weather? It's been too hot for my taste. I can't wait to get a few days of cooler weather. It's been unseasonably warm this November. I'm one of those people that can't wait to retire north. Well north Georgia or North Carolina anyway. LOL.

You will have a wonderful holiday, Wendyloo! Very cool. Where will she be going after her leave? I was planning to go to Pensacola this weekend, but Jake called and said that he would not be able to leave until the 30th. So trip is delayed - whatever.

Well ladies my daughter comes home in 3 days!!! What an extra special Thanksgiving this will be. Hope all is well with all of you.

Hey, Wendyloo, of course she passed. I'll bet you feel much more relaxed this evening than you did last night. I am actually going to drive down to Pensacola to see Jake's A school graduation, drive him back to Michigan, and then transfer a vehicle to his name, and he'll be off to CA. Point Mugu looks like it will be OK - several State Parks nearby and also Channel Islands National Park. He won't be home for long, but that's OK. I want him to have good adventures.

Congrats to both of you. Your daughter for passing and you for making it through another one of the stressful situations all us moms endure.
Enjoy your time while she's with you.

Well ladies she passed! Yay! She's done with her tests. She'll have labs and clinicals and then home sweet home!

Cindy - thank you very much. I guess I can call it the mom-butterflies (in the tummy). I know I was more nervous than they are.

That's great about Jake. I'm glad that he got a duty station that he was happy about. This one girl from my daughters class was last to pick and she didn't have a choice at all. She got a place she is so upset about getting, but she knows that's all part of the military life. Still I can't help but feel bad for her. I wish I could make it to her Corps School graduation, but I am glad that I at least got to see her a couple of weeks ago. She is so well adjusted and I got to meet one of her really good friends as well.

Ooh, Wendyloo, you will be spending the day on pins and needles - kind of like waiting for the call that comes after battle stations. Your daughter has been doing so well up to this point; she will be fine. I know - easy for me to say. Jake got his orders yesterday. He will be at Point Mugu, CA for two years - shore duty. He seems quite pleased with that.

Okay ladies. Tomorrow is a really big day. Test 12 is tomorrow and it's their last test. They will have clinicals within a week I believe and then finally graduation and home on leave! I will be saying a lot of prayers and also a nervous wreck tomorrow until I hear from her.

I hope everything is going well for all of you. I miss you guys. Take care.
