Hi All. I have been following along since the beginning of Bootcamp and I finally joined the group. My son is in Div 937. Got a letter from him today. He thinks Battle Stations is Monday and Tuesday. I am very excited to come up and see him for graduation. My husband, my son's Finance and I arrive around 8:30 Thursday night at Midway and then try to find the hotel. We are staying at the Courtyard Marriott Waukegan/Gurnee. (I have marriott points from about 10 years ago - kept promsing I would use them for a vacation and that never happened LOL) He is going to A school for HT. He mentioned in a previous letter that he has to report to A school on Aug 8th and it actually starts on Aug 10th. My letter today was dated last Sunday and he said they had their final fitness test yesterday. I have not heard from him on that so "No news is good news". He has been writing every week but never says anything about what is going on until the letter I got today. He also said he picks up his pictures on the 29th. He was supposed to be on the honor guard but he got a bad blister on his ankle that got infected really bad and he was on crutches for over 1 week. He had to miss to much practice. He decided it was better to let the ankle heal and be able to pass the fitness test that push for the honor guard. At least he was able to keep up with everything and not get held back. Well now that I have rambled on for ever I will go back to being a crazy women! LOL

Just wondering... are any of the moms of recruits Alexandra, Michelle, Andrea, or Meghan (all in Div 267) out there?
Trish Comment by Trish on July 23, 2009 at 7:17pm
Dona~ I do know that they photoshop pictures..cause someone from my sons div was extremely ill, (had broken blood vessels in his eyes!!), and his pictures were beautiful!!!! Don't worry. :o)

Also, Kyle's letter after Hell Week he stated, "Well, Hell Week is over! I learned that fire is hot and tear gas sucks!!" Still had his sense of humor. LOL

Received a letter today-he was sick with the flu last week and so he thought his pictures were just OK because he had a fever. He said the only thing that would keep him for graduating now is the final PFA he has passed all the others, thought-he should be OK. He also said that he lost weight so his dress uniform was a little big now. He said he didn't know what happened, but the food has gone downhill-it is bad now. He said it is not any harder now, just real busy. He did not mention a time for battlestations-DIV 265

Gena-I'm glad to hear that 937 is doing well. I didn't get a letter from Drew today-Thursday is usually the day. Anyone with news on Division 937-it would be appreciated.

Renee thank you for that info. Jonie if it were my son there we would never get as much mail either so dont feel bad. I did call Karens recruiter and he said the article in the newspaper about grad. wont come out till after graduation sometime. Also he told me she does have the whole weekend. YIPPEE!! She will leave for Florida on Aug. 5th. I hope the gas chamber wasnt too horrible for them!! Looking forward to her phone call. We are writing our last letters to her today!

Glad today was letter day. Lots of great news from my husband (937) doing well on all of their test. He mentioned battlestations coming up but did not say what day and he was very proud it looks like he ranked up to an E-3. He also sent a "list" of things we have to do. Like eat a nice dinner and sleep, etc. I am so excited and can't wait to see him. YAY!! 7 days to go.

Thanks Jeanette (Andy's Mom) I Our letter from Bradley was full of gross descriptions of the bodily fluids escaping during the gas chamber, but nothing about the flags. So they have 4?! Cool...with all the fighting my son said was happening I was worried they wouldn't get many. Sounds like they have banded together and are working hard. Battlestations should be interesting...can't wait for the sailor call!
