Well, J-bird is back with his mate and I just realized that I have really been lacking in my prayer life for the recruits that we were praying so much for earlier...just because they finished bootcamp does not mean they don't need our covering...shoot, I hate feeling convicted!!!! I am going to get Jesse's stuff together today and sent out later on...we are going up to a friends house on the 4th for their small town parade and breakfast and it should be fun to just enjoy ourselves and relax before summer school begins. I had to ahow up for jury duty today and praise God, no jury trials so no jury duty for another year! well, I have to get some things done while I have time...I will check back later...maybe we should set up times and days to pop on...it seems like I miss everyone!!!

I miss chatting with everyone!! Our group reminds me of a message board...LOL. I know everyone is getting back into their routines, but it was really nice that I could always come here and find someone on. Not so much anymore :( I really miss all of you!! I'll keep coming back... I'm a creature of habit...LOL. Hope to see you soon....

Hey Ladies!!.... It's been a few days.. was watching my grand daughter out of town & losing the battle with this cold or whatever it is. I was feeling better, but it got worse after I returned home. I feel pretty yucky right now :(

Helloooo Alicia... welcome back!! You were missed!!

Gina... Austin hasn't started school yet either. He's on hold... but he says he stays pretty busy.

Hi Donna... Hi Stormy... sounds like you guys are doing great!

Hi Karen... hope you're feeling better.

BTW... "Carrier" is pretty interesting!! I've been watching on the computer...LOL. It's easy since each segment (chapter) is only 5-15 mins long. AND it's free. :) If you're interested it's at PBS.org

Hi Alicia,
I know how frustrating it can be with computers! Sometimes it can make you feel like you are going to "loose your religion." Dr. Patterson once said that computers are the "Devil's folly." But he also said they are a necessary evil in this day we live in. :)
Anyway, I am glad that you got those issues straightened out.
Yeah, you tend to loose your first name in the service. At least it hasn't gotten to numbers, yet.
My son started or was supposed to start classes yesterday. I was thinking of calling and leaving him a voice mail message just to let him know that I am thinking of him and praying for him. BTW Alicia, I love your icon phot of Jesse. He looks so handsome!
I am a little bit bummed that my son didn't get the bootcamp photos.
I am going to set something up when he is home on leave though. I know if I don't set it up it will not get done.
We are going pretty good overall. I think I am finally getting back in the groove of things after being gone for PIR. I ended up taking a week and a half off so it was more difficult than I thought it would be to just back in. I am looking forward to having this coming up Friday off from my full time work. I do have to work my part time job but it isnt't very long and then I have July 4th off. We plan on going to a local town celebration this year. We will even be manning some of the inflatables. This should be fun!

Hey, I'm back up and running! I was at a camp all last week and when I got home, our modem no longer worked, our phone line was down, and ATT said they would send someone today...well, the phone line is fixed but it blew out the modem completely and surprise!!! The modem just went out of warranty..FRUSTRATING!!! Well, Jesse said that his first test is next Monday and that he already had some finance classes.....I am asking him who is in his classes but he only knows people by their last names, not first...I was even trying to explain Kristina's daughter to him and he said..last name mom!!...then I got a text later asking if she got held back due to an injury and then graduated with them or if she was 'the other one'...so I guess there are two girls....I have to get his stuff packed up and sent to him...I feel bad because I have had no time to get that stuff done but he was involved with the same camp for may years and knew that he would have to wait.....how has everyone been????

Hi Sb,

Thanks for joining us! I know what you mena about this being the best thing for your son. I also believe it is and will be the best decision that my son has ever made. He left for his A school on the Sunday after PIR and just started classes today so I know what you mean about that also. The Military life really is different.
I really enjoyed our get together at Flanagans also. I wish we could do it again. What a blast.
This whole site has helped me emotional well being also. I am kind of sad that our group is taking on a different shape but I guess that is to be expected. I knew after PIR things were going to be different for all of us but I hope to still stay in touch with you all.

Happy Birthday to you Stormy on July 2nd! I am so glad that you get to see and hear from your husband now. I am sure it is awesome for all of you...

Gina, whats up with your son's school?

Have anyone heard from Melody lately?

Greetings all! My son just started submarine school this past week. So far, he is loving his experience in the Navy. This has been the best thing ever for him. I have never seen such a look of total pride and happiness in his eyes as I did at his graduation. He was a "grad & go" which I find interesting as he didn't start school for 2 weeks.

Also, I would like to offer my most heartfelt thank you to everyone involved inorganizing the party at Flanagans. I was made to feel welcome and part of the group, this helped my emotional wellbeing more than I can tell you. My button sits proudly next to my son's picture. He was in Div. 217.

Hey all...I'm backk! Still not up to par...this thing just hangs on! Part of it is the lack of REST..not my choice however! Had to wake up early yesterday and take our daughter to the airport (hubby works at the golf course on sat mornings)...so came home, took a nap and had to meet my 3 girlfriends at the mall to discuss excursions for our cruise coming up in a couple weeks.

Seems like no matter how hard i try to REST i can't!
Anyway...Boo sounds well. Said they swore in a new commander the other day, they had to wear whites and said there were a ton of officers all over base and everytime he went from one building to the other he had to salute! Otherwise, his classes started Thursday..mainly intro type stuff, but already has some homework.

Happy he got his new laptop. Unfortunately, there is no wi-fi service in their dorms..they have to go to the USO or bowling alley, or one other place, sorry can't remember, to use it. But, he was on cloud 9 having that again.

Hope everyone here is well...i know i've promised to call, and will once i have some energy back! luv you all! i luv reading everyone's updates! Pam, glad you're doing better as well!
