Hi Gina,
Where is your son at? My son got his box with his phone and a few other things I sent him on yesterday. When he called me last night he was munching on the granola bar that I put in the box. I would normally think that was rude but in this case I was happy to hear him enjoying it. I send out yet another box of clothes, etc. on Monday and he was trying to give me a new list yesterday. He is going to where me out I tell you! :)

Hi Ladies, My son called and told me there is a girl on his ship and I went to school with her mother. Now that is exciting. I eas able to send my son clothes, cds, shoes, notebooks, abackpack and a few other things. It is exciting to be able to talk to them everyday. God bless

Good morning everyone!

Crystal, my son called last night and he said that he will begin a typing class on Thursday. He already knows how to type but maybe they will teach him to type without looking at the keyboard. I am thankful I learned that in High School many, many years ago. Anyway, he said he is supposed to "class up" on Monday. I don't know why they are backed up but I'm sure there is a reason. From what I know so far you have different units of study to complete and then test for. I wonder if that may be one reason? Different people learn at different speeds so....Just a thought. I really dont know for sure.

Hi Katie,
Thanks for that tip on carrier. I will definitely have to check into that. When my husband was in he was on a destroyer and a cruiser. Carriers are altogether different. I hear they are more like a small floating city.

Hey Karen,
Sorry you are sick. I will pray for a quick recovery. I can't help but wonder if everyone got the swine flu while in Chicago or flying on the planes. As long as you are otherwise healthy you should be okay but "get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids, take two aspirin, and call me in the morning."

Hey all! BooBoo is fine! (LOL-love to use that term now)! He starts his classes tomorrow. Yup..he's been on "cleaning duty" too, but said he doesn't care. His knee is bothering him somewhat. Said they did a 3 mile run the other day and he was fine, but went to workout in the gym yesterday and tweeked his knee. He may go to see a dr if it doesn't feel better soon..but afraid they would hold him back from starting class and doesn't want that to happen either. So, I'm just prayin' for him on that one.
Other than that...I've now got a cold. Started out yesterday as a sore throat..drainage. I hate it! I don't feel super bad or anything, it's more annoying than anything. So not sure if got it in Chicago, from hubby, or what? But it stinks! I haven't even had a cold for over 5 years!! Oh well..rather get it over with now before my cruise in July, for sure!

If anyone has netflix, you might want to watch the series "Carrier." It's one of the instant shows with 10 episodes about life on a Navy carrier. I've watched the first 2 episodes so far, it's pretty interesting.

Hey everyone. It's been nice having much better communication with my sailor. Although I am still recovering from whatever sickness was going around. I'm just starting to get my voice back, I'm not usually sick for this long. My bf starts his A school next week, but last week he was just on cleaning duty and got out early.

Hellloooo... Is anybody out there?? :) Miss chatting with you...

Donna...
Does Tim have any idea why or how long? Austin doesn't. I really don't understand how they could be "put on hold" for very long. There's a PIR every week, seems like they would back up..lol.

Hey Crystal,
Tim is waiting to start A school also. Hopefully it won't take too long....

WOW Donna! ...
Just read your story!! Can't help but wonder if the "laundry" gave him the blues...it sure does it to me...LOL. Great Story!

Hi Everyone! It looks like Austin will be on hold for a bit. He's not sure how long, but he is staying busy & still loving it. :) Sounds like all the Sailors are doing great!

Alicia... Great work!! The world could use a lot more people like you! :)

Hey everyone,
Congratulations Whitney! Our son said that he had two guys in his division getting married on PIR weekend so there seems to be alot of that going on. :)
Hi Stormy!
" " Alicia!
" " Lorraine!
My son tried to call me last night but the darn phone only beeped once and by the time I could switch over he was leaving a message. But at least I get to hear his voice more offen than before.
