Hi Shelia! Boy sorry I didnt' get back to you....I get so caught up in things and time just passes me right by! Killian is an AO. He has been having such a good time on this deployment. They found out last week that they will be out an extra two months and he was so excited! Haha... I am not sure this excitment is shared by all! I'm not even sure how I feel about it, just glad that he is happy.
How is Martin? He is still out right? So how did the Adopt a Sailor project work out? How does that work and what kind of things do you get? There is something going on with the Nimitz and I really want to help out, but not sure how to.
How is everyone else? Sure do miss the up dates, I bet everyone is just as busy as can be! I can't believe it is fall already! Our summer flew right on by!
I do hope everyone is well and still keep you all in prayer :o)

Hi Edna! I haven't checked here in a while...lots happening at the Clarks these days!....I loved reading about Killian's visit, and I'm so glad you were able to score with the 20th birthday gift. It gets really tough to do something you know they will love, with all the lifestyle changes the Navy brings with it. It is so true, that our boys are really seeing the difference between them (and what they are working for), and those who don't work and/or go on to college. Martin spent time with some of his buds when home in May, and was appalled that some of them aren't doing either! Just another life lesson ala the Navy.....and a sigh of relief from this Mom who had been waiting for the heavens to open and assure me that my first born finally got the message: "You can't be a productive adult unless you are working and/or going to school!"

I'm also pleased Killion is enjoying deployment! Sorry for having to ask, but what is Killion's rate? I don't remember!....the experience of deployment is awesome for them. They learn so much, and also see such different places! Martin has written in e-mail that he REALLY appreciates, more than ever, the advantages that we have in America, now that he's seen a little of some other countries. We hear from him about every 10 to 14 days, via e-mail (Has not written a word on paper to us since BC)....utilized the cell phone a lot before deployment, but international calling rates are just ridiculous. He has used a calling card to call home once since they left Hawaii on June 15th...and it was a couple of weeks after they left....nothing live since then...he's supposed to be back by the first week of December, and swears he's coming home for Christmas...I sure hope so.
Molly's Adopt a Sailor group here on N4M's has adopted Martin's ship for August, so if you'd like to join in, stop by there....they are sending care packages, letters, and providing as many provisions for a Luau party....those ladies are as crazy as I am about our sailors, so I'm in good company!!!

Take Care Edna.....great to hear from you! Hope we can chat again soon. Sheila

Hello Ladies!
Well Killian is offically out to sea! His visit home was wonderful and it was so hard to see him go. I gave him a big hug and I told him "I don't want you to go" and he said in his oh so calm voice, " Ya, but you don't want me to stay and be a bum either" haha! He has a way of making me laugh just before I want to cry!
I got an email from him yesterday and he said time was going fast and he wasn't doing anything but alot of work, but he is so happy to be there!
The week before he left for San Diego it was his 20th birthday. I was so bummed cause that was when he was orignally scheduled to come home, and I didn't know what to do for him or what to get him. He didn't need anything and there was not much I was really able to do. So I was really bummed about not being able to make his 20th a special one....then I saw that Jimmy Wayne, Dirks Bentley and Brad Paisley were going to be in Virginia Beach ON his birthday! He has not been to a concert before and he loves Brad and Dirk! So I got him two tickets. I was worried that they were not going to be good seats, but he said he was right in the center very close to the stage! He had a blast and said this was going to be a "never forget" birthday! I felt much better ;o)
Right now I have been keeping busy with the tour season and wrestling camp going on. Next week is my last week of summer before I go back to work! Hope everyone is doing great and I look forward to hearing from you!
Oh ya, Killian said that the night before they were to leave for the deployment he ran into a sailor who was in his DIV at bootcamp!
Shelia~ how is Martin? He is on deployment right?
Irene~ is Kevin still in Norfolk?
Take care everyone!

Hi Moms! I just got home from Georgia to visit Andrew. He is doing well, too skinny, but looks great! We went to Disney, and to Paula Dean's restaurant in Savannah! It was great. I will write again later. Adele

Hi Ladies!
Yesterday was INCREDIBLE! Killian came home....and he gets to stay until the 4th of July! I am so very very happy! This is the big part, I managed to keep it a secret until he got here, so his Dad and his brothers didn't have a clue and were knocked off their feet :o)
I took Kole to Juneau and told him I just needed to get some work done and I wanted his to tag along just so the two of us can spend time together. He was a bit confused, but a trip to town for a bit of shopping is never questioned, so he came along with me. Killian's recruiter just "happened" to run into us and Kole has been wanting to talk to him about joining the Navy. The two of them go to the Navy office and I head off to the airport to pick up Killian. Once he arrives Chief brings Kole to the airport to meet up with me and oh boy was he surprised!! It was so fun. Keith was back in Hoonah and he also had no clue of what was going on.
Killians best friend also came in yesterday and he also didn't think he was going to see him until maybe next summer.
We got home and had a wonderful prime rib dinner set up by some friends, and the boys of course made it through the door and started to wrestle!
Yesterday night my house was loud and everyone stayed up late, but it was so wonderful.

HI Edna.....Hope this finds you doing ok....I knew from somtime in August of last year that Martin would not be home for Christmas '08, unless there was some sort of miracle....I held out hope, but the miracle didn't come, and my heart broke everytime I thought about it....Hang in there, you will make it!
