Trish~ I am soooooo happy for you! I am glad you had a geat time with him.
Susan~ Yeah I know what you mean, I totally missed picking up Nick smelly socks off the floor and diggin them out of the couch...thats wore off a little bit lol. Miss him tons though and if thats what I have to do to have him here then I will pick up a million pair of nasty stinky crust socks...did I mention how bad they stink?

Tricia~ Love the story...anytime I feel down and think my day has been bad I will come back and read it lol!!! I am so glad all of the sailors are getting settled at their duty stations. I wish we were at ours. I cried leaving him Sunday...its been a while since I have done that. I am just ready to have my family back. It could be Feb. before his orders get in. On a lighter note we had a GREAT weekend in P'cola. We went to the air show, went to play putt putt with Kaiden and rode got karts. We went to Pcola Beach Sunday which is totally different from Pensacola and not really even near it lol. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend with him and the kids though. I have a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach that we will be in Norfolk besides the fact that his instructor said about 95% of every class goes to Norfolk for their first duty station.
Smoke~~~ I need details and pics!!!! Are you guys living together? Whats going on with you??

Hello to everyone,

Great to see all the updates. Beckilynn, hang tough! Things will work out, just hold on. It is exciting to see the updates about all "our" Sailors. I am honored to have my son home for ten days until he reports to NC. It is amazing these days how every second is a precious moment. I've done so much laundry since he has been home and what I use to hate doing is now a great joy. Who would have thought I would have looked forward to smelly clothes? Kind of like when we all received "THE DREADED BOX". Smelly clothes, but we all cherished them didn't we?

Trisha, don't you worry . . . if you do end up in jail . . . we will come and bust you out! Legally, of course. :)

Hope everyone has a great day! It's pouring rain here in SC, however, with my son home it is just liquid sunshine to me! Nothing is going to dampen my day. Take care everyone!!

Kyle is safe and sound in VA. He arrived there 1645. So it was an 8 hour drive. Not too bad. He is super excited and getting settled in as I type this. He has plans to go to dinner with a few friends that he already knows from P'cola. And John, Annie's son, is coming down this weekend and stay with Kyle. So he is very happy. And that of course is making me very happy!!!!

I don't mean to be such a wet blanket. I am very happy for all of you who are getting to see your sailors and have quality time with them. (A little jealous, but happy) Thank you for your kind words and prayers. They are appreciated.

Actually no but this is something I have to learn to live with. Feels like going through the stages of grief but he's not dead. In my head I know he is an adult and has to live with the decisions he has made. I know that being bitter and angry isn't good for either of us. Once this hurt subsides I will be able to give in to the idea there is nothing I can do about this. My heart however keeps seeing my son. The son I have protected, loved, and provided for. My heart sees the future he and I talked about him having. The closeness he and I have always had gone. My soul sees him repeating the mistakes I made when I was his age. The mistakes I tried to teach him about so he would never have to endure that kind of life. But, he is an adult. Free to make his own decisions. He has chosen to follow that road. All I can do is keep quiet and watch him fall in hole after hole the same way I did. When all the while I know there is another road that is paved and smoother. Even without supporting him, respecting him, or being honest she has some hold on him that my love and support can never match. He is married, for better or worse...til death do they part.

Becky - hope you are feeling better with all the good advise have everyone!
Tricia - so glad no one landed in jail!! LOL I once got a ticket in the mail from Chicago - at the time I was in California and so was my car - funny how they sent me a parking ticket. Mayor needed more money that year!
Becca - Glad to hear that things are going well!! The end of school is almost over!!
Trish - Glad you have been having a good time with Kyle home!! It's wonderful to have them come home. He will be near enough to visit right? Brian is all settled out in California - but it's a long way from home.
Smoke - no wedding details? How about pics of your dress? Hope all is going well!!!

Becca - it was just one giant comedy of errors that makes me really happy I'm a trooper!! My husband calls me the night before graduation and says we're taking a fellow sailor home. Fine with me, in fact HOORAY for me as I will not have to take both of my kids to the ceremony. I have a slight anxiety issue being anywhere in public with the two of them... They're awesome kids but they're little and don't have the best listening skills, particularly when they're together. So I take my daughter. We get on base about 4:15 Thursday... almost 2 hours before the Visitor Center closes so we can get our pass for me to park on base. Only they decided to change their hours and they closed at 4. Awesome. So I drive over to the Corps side gate and am told by a very kind sailor i can definitely park there, no problem. Sailor friend loads his bags in the car, I take hubby to dinner. Come back to corps side gate, am told I can't park there... Awesome. Go to the hotel for the night wondering to do about the next morning. Pull up at the gate to try my luck at 7 at the exact moment hubby is walking up to the gate to see if I have arrived. I take my chances to see if they'll let me back on base without a pass. No such luck. Awesome. Can park across the street at the train station. So I go there and meet my husband. Have a sneeking suspicion I have to pay for parking but never have so I skip it and walk on base. Ceremony's great. Camera not so much. Got a few ok pictures. Stupid camera. Everyone's squared away, sailor friend is ready to go. We go to walk off base across the street from train station... gate locked. AWESOME. It's me, two sailors and a 4 year old is shiny shiny shoes!!! We make the long walk to the main gate. Steve said it's a mile, but I don't believe it. Not a bad walk, eventually we make it to the train station and on my windshield is my ticket. The guys say screw it, don't bother. I say I'll happily pay it. They say what'll they do, throw you in jail? And I say no. They'll throw STEVE in jail, it's his car. Awesome :) Nevertheless, sailor friend dropped off safely at home Friday night, I got to spend the weekend at home with my husband and my ticket is paid. No jail for us... not this week anyway.

Kyle leaves in the morning and heads to Norfolk. It has been soooo nice having him home. We went to I Hop for breakfast this morning, just him and me. And I made a big roast dinner. I tried to make it special since he won't be home for Thanksgiving. They are all the movies now. It feels nice.
