HM A School - San Antonio

Quick question, what airline did your Sailors fly to A school on/what airport did they leave from? My fiance's PIR is 1/13 and he is wanting me to go ahead and book a flight at the same time he is flying out but he doesn't realize there are two airports he could leave from and a lot of carriers. We know getting on the same flight is near to impossible BUT we are hoping to at least be able to be in the same section of the airport. Thanks!

Does anyone have any hotel recommendations for San Antonio? It doesn't have to be fancy, just clean, near the base, prefferably with a fridge and microwave.

There is a Super 8 right off of the highway about a 5 minute drive from Ft. Sam and about 5 minutes from downtown. It is just outside of the downtown area to not have the high price. It is also separated by an seemingly "rough" stretch of town between the hotel and the River Walk, but my wife and I enjoyed our stay. It isn't fancy at all, but the rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly, and accommodating. Here is a link to the hotel

When we stayed there were a few rooms that had the fridge microwave combo. I am sure, per your request, they will put you in a room with that setup. It is near the freeway, but the noise wasn't that bad at all. There is also a river taxi stop a short walk away. I would not recommend walking to downtown or the taxi stop alone at night. The grounds at the hotel are very safe though.
