Hi, all our daughter is staying at Great Lakes for corpman school which is scheduled to class-up Friday September 4. They are scheduled to finish December 3. It's getting cold up there she says. I know your kids who've come to florida felt the difference. But our temperatures have begun to drop too, so I asure you they are going to have a beautiful, warm fall. As for Great Lakes, our girl says "bring my comforter and blanket please, I'm already sleeping in my sweats!" We are gearing up to go again! Our son as PIR next weekend, September 11. so, we got to spend some time with andrew at the airport. he's all settled in down in florida. he as a little homesick at first, but he's good now.

This weekend has been great! We will head home tonight after dropping DJ off back at base. Where does everyone's Sailor go now that bootcamp is over? Ours will stay at Great Lakes for A school. Not sure how long that will be. I am hearing anywhere from 20 - 30 weeks. It was great seeing and meeting those I got to meet. Wish I could have met more of you, but we got in so late Thursday night. The PIR ceremony was awesome! Please share some pics of you and your family when you can. I need to take some more today and will post more later. Take care & God bless! Paula

kap1991, wish I'd gotten back to the computer sooner ;( I would have asked our daughter. I strongly urge you to contact her recruiter in the morning. If she has been moved they will know and will get the new address for you. You can call them with any questions.

Got another call from Andrew today. It was a surprize. They won Captain's Cup and it was their RDC's first div to win. They got to call because of it. Horray. So good to hear from him. It's amazing how much we had to say to each other after talking yesterday but he got to talk for quite a while today too. It's so close to time to see him that I just want the days to pass by quickly. I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, but the sooner I do, the sooner Friday will get here!!!! Here's to hoping you all got another call too.

could one of you good people ask your sailor if they know a girl named Faith, she was in Ship 12, Div. 287 but while she was doing her run she had an asthma attack and we think she was moved to another division but we have not heard from her since Wed. afternoon. we are loss and need help trying to find some answers.

Way to go Division 287! I got my call from my son about 2:45 EST today! He was hoarse but in great spirits! It was awesome to hear his voice. He said he has soooo soooo much to tell us and he cannot wait to see us!!!! I cannot wait either. Now, it's time to get my rental van reserved and begin to get stuff packed to take!!!! I am so happy I can't hardly stand it!!!!!

Please keep us updated on Kadian and Molly! Della, let me know when you know when Molly will do BS 21. And Kathy, let us know when you find out about Kadian's re-run and then BS 21. We are really pulling for them!

I got the call too. He hogged the phone for 45 minutes so sorry if someone else missed the phone, but we were selfish. Couldn't bear to hang up. He also said they were soooooo tired. They have Captain's Cup tomorrow which is physical competition. Andrew has to do situps and a relay. He said being this close to seeing us again makes this week ever harder to deal with. They're almost there but you know, almost isn't good enough. He said only one guy did not pass his PFA which looks good for Andrew since he was Athletic Petty Officer. He's back to sounding like himself. Gave his brother all kinds of crap on the phone. Can you believe it, I shared the phone call with brother and Dad. I deserve a medal for that! LOL. Not sure we'll make it to meet and greet as we are going to get a later start than originally planned. Maybe we'll see some of you at PIR. Division 287 is now full of Sailors instead of Recruits.

I got the CALL!!!!!!!!!!! He was so excited but very tired, they have been up for over 24 hours. He said that their whole division passed so they were good! He said that they got an hour to call and go to the NEX and then they had to go back. They are going to bed at 8 tonight. I am so so proud of all of them! Yeah Everyone is there at the phones so you all should get the CALL!!!!
