Hi Pam, we went to Office Depot and Avery sells labels that were just plain white that you can use with any printer. We got model #8254 and they are 3-1/3 x 4 inches and worked really nice.

For each mom that rsvped, we went to their page and clicked on their photo or artwork and saved it in a word file but added their name, sailor's name and division. We had a table set up as they entered the restaurant and just had fun matching the person to their name tag.

For the dads and other family members - I just took plain labels and a sharpie and asked them to write their own names. Everyone was very good about it. Afterall...this is Navy for MOMS!!!

We used the Full Moon Cafe' - it is within one mile of the base and they have a backroom that they reserved for us. They have a huge menu, it is owned by a greek family and they are open 24/7. The food portions are LARGE and prices are very reasonable - it is a diner but service was good and all was happy with the location, food and pricing. They do not serve achohol so if you want to drink, they also own Flannigans and they serve drinks there.

Another thing that we did early on was each mom introduced herself, where they were from, who their Sailor was and where they were heading for A school.
This really opened the door for alot of conversation during the dinner.

If you do a search on the 4/25 PIR dinner, alot of the details will be on the site. Including the restaurant's website so you can look at their menu and their phone # is also there for you.

It was a very casual laid back diner but I think with everyone traveling all day and needing to be up early no one was interested in dressing up or doing anything to fancy. It is also close to the base which I liked so everyone had a chance to drive by the base the night before PIR and knew where they were going in the morning. Hope that helps, if you have any questions - let me know.

This is the web site for the resturant in question... they have a really big menu for real and it does look cozy and this way all the parents can bring their small kid's also.... and their husbands and us girl's can go to flannigans after if we choose .... ( I want be able to sleep and i would rather do it that way than to sit in my room chewing my nails ) LOL

you should go to Flannagan s
they love kids and they are great!! the menu is wonderful fresh made cheese cake they have private rooms and ohh yeah you can call him the day of or just show up with the group if you let him know before he will set you up in a private room. Give them a call he owns the full moon but you will not be as happy with that one as it is more like a truck stop and not nearly as nice as Flannagans!!
In fact they are putting on a steak place at flannagans too !! We had 4 of our meals there yummie

Let's make an executive decision and go with Flannigans. We can call a few days before hand and reserve a room.

I'd be more than happy to make name tags for everyone.
