Hi All, my son was set to PIR June 1st, 2 weeks, but just notified he's been moved to RCU for stress fracture to his femur. I'm worried this set back will cause him to get sep stated and sent home.

Hi. I just wanted to share that my son passed his physical, and was cleared to return to training.  He left RCU on April 29, and he was transferred back into a different Division than what he was in before his injury.  He's scheduled to graduate on June 6. It was a relief to find out he passed, as it was worrisome to have him there.  I can't wait to see him - it's a few weeks away.  He was in RCU for about 3 months, recuperating from a bruised bone in one of his knees.  Lots of physical therapy, and lots of time to let it heal, so I'm sure he learned what patience is about while in there.  He also met good people in there, who also turned into friends as they supported each other through their recovery. God bless everyone in RCU.

thier  calls are mostly limited i believe so he probably didnt have the time to get phone on time.

i know how stressful this time can be, its a waiting game to hear from them again and when you do, its a heavy weight lifted off your shoulders. im sure he will call  in the next few days

Hi friends, I am kind of worry, cause my son is in RCU since feb. 25, he called me march 8 and told me that he would call back the 22, but didn't receive any call...he was told that they in RCU were supposed to call every other Saturday...I feel so sad....can somebody tell me what could happened? worry mom :(

you will get notified mostly by him through his letters and depending on the extent of his injury, he will more than likely be shadowed by other divisions until he graduates.

a good thing you sending crosswords, anything to keep his mind off  his injury and encourage him to heal and push forward. i also sent alot of inspiring quotes, it helps.

i know it will be a difficult time, it was for me

buttercup: thank you.  I've went through some of the comments here from past mothers who had SR's in the RCU, and it sounds like a lot of nothing, which would be expected so he can heal.  I mailed letters yesterday, and included some crossword puzzles, and a short story, to help time pass while he's there.  Do you know if I'll be notified when he's been released from RCU, once the doctor lets him get back into a division to complete BC?  Or do I wait till I get letters from him to tell me that?

Comment by buttercup on February 26, 2014 at 5:19pm

yes, his address will change but dont worry the letters that were sent before he left for RCU will eventually get to him.

sorry for his injury, as my daughter had to go through RCU for her injured leg. she tells me it was tough, probably the most challenging but with the support she made it through!

my thoughts and prayers are with you as he recovers

Hi. My son has recently been admitted to the RCU for bruised bone in his left knee, as well as fluid swelling around that knee.  He was supposed to graduate on 3/28/14, but he called me on Monday night to tell me he was in RCU and that I'd receive a letter explaining what he's there for.  Can anyone tell me if the address will change for him?  I think I'll get his letter today (Wednesday) if he mailed the RCU explanation letter on Monday afternoon.  I've still been sending to the address we were given before he went to RCU, so I'm hoping they find the way to him.  I'm worried, of course, but I'm faithful too that he'll finish BC once he's healed.

Hi Topmom. My daugther is also in RCU. We recieved a box last week as well with a very short note that said there was a problem in their division and they had to mail home everything they were not permitted to have. Not sure why she shipped home her bible but it may have just been hectic and got put in by mistake. If you are on Facebook there is a support group for loved ones that have a recruit in FIT or RCU that has been very helpful for me. Just search for FIT/RCU Division SHip 4 and ask to join!
