To Kellwt(mom 0f a sailor) mY son is staioned at Gulfport. I am in NYS. He is supposed to be home for Christmas then I guess He has to go back after the holidays and get ready for deployment. It is going to be great to see him and his wife. I miss them both. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Day. I don't have to work that day since McDonalds where I work is closed. I just realized that my craft fair is in 2 weeks so I better get cracking on getting some more things done for it. After that , its xmas, the kids will be home for a week or 2, yeh. I have to finish my xmas presents I am making. Then its time to get going on getting some things made to send to "knit for the NAvy, and Molli's "Adopt a sailor" These are 2 groups I belong to . WoW!!! I am still trying to finish an afghan I startwd when my Seabee joinwd in '06. So I am going to get going on all my projects.

Melissa as soon as I can get a real conversation with Myron, I will tell him to send lots of pics, but for right now I have to settle for texts. And as soon as I get them I will definitely post them.

Veleda, great to hear that your sailor is in Japan. My son spent 2 years there and absolutely loved it. If he could get shore duty, he would probably go back. He just did not like life on a Destroyer. He started his career on an aircraft carrier that had a crew of 6,000 and then went to a destroyer with a crew of 300. Hope your son had a great time in Japan. Tell him to spend lots of time if he can sight seeing and take lots of pictures. I have some posted on my page.

Proud of all our sailors!! Becky, my husband was in Electronics when he was in the navy in the late 60-70's. JAM didn't pursue that field, she is an MA( military police) and loves it! Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Hello ladies, my Sailor finally informed me that he was infact in Japan, but has been extremely busy. He is not on the ship until Friday, since it is out to sea. I hope you guys have a great week.

Great to have a group so close to home. For us that's Granby, Mo. Anyone even closer than Springfield to me? David is our sailor. He left today for boot camp. He is 23 and married. We are a very close family, and he will be missed greatly by all! He is scheduled to go into Electronics Engineering, but would like to eventually be a Nuclear Engineer, just no openings at this time.:( My husband was in the army for 8 years and was in Desert Storm, so we already know how hard this can be, but also what pride we have in David's decision to serve our country!

Kamile57 - my son Robby is in Mississippi too!!!! He graduates from a-school TODAY!!! Woo-Hoo!!!! He wont be home for thxgiving but will be home for 2 wks on or @ Dec 1st!!!! I cannot wait!!!! :) I havent seen him for more than a couple hours since the middle of June!!!!! Is your son in Meridian MS or gulfport!?!?!

Yes my son will be home for Thanksgiving or at least he says that he will. He can't come for his Dad's birthday which is Monday of that week but that's okay as long as he is here for Thanksgiviing.

My son was home for Halloween. That's a holiday, isn't it???? We had Thanksgiving dinner while he was here because he won't be able to be here then. In years past, he's been able to come back for either Christmas or NY's Eve, his choice. I thought that was just standard practice, but he says he probably won't be able to this year because he's out of leave time.
