Hello Shea!!! I am originally from Louisiana and my sailor was born at the Womens Hospital where you live. It had been open for less than a year I think!
We drove to Chicago but flew to Groton when my sailor was graduating A school. It was too far to drive for my husband's liking. We did rent a vehicle while there and it was nice to have one to go wherever we chose. Good luck on your drive.

My son's best friend just graduated from Groton and will be heading to Norfolk after a short time at home. He's a MM. Is this still the best site to keep informed about what he's going to go through? I don't post much but I've learned a lot from reading your posts and I want to be able to support him when he gets deployed.

Shea - Gotta love it - Cajun Popsicle - LOL- My son just started Sonar and is going during the days. I guess they really had a rough winter this year!

Johanna - Your son must be ahead of mine. My son just started the last phase of Sonar school and graduations sometime in September I believe. Has you son been assigned to a base yet? Mine is sure hoping for somewhere warm!

MarlaCPA, my son Grads Sonar May 22, also classes in the evening, but he is an
avid " knuckle dragger"... Snow Boarder. He is my snow kid through and through.
