Just wanted to say hi Im from west tx Lubbock to be exact my daughter is in Great Lakes Ill right now and going to Pensacola Fl in about a week I am new to this site too

Hi! I am from Lubbock too! My son graduated from Great Lakes in Sept. and is in Pensacola waiting to start A school! What is your daughter going to be doing for the Navy?

hello dawn nice to hear from you, my daughter is a reservist but she is a seabee, and she goes to training one weekend a month every month in Amarillo, and right now they are getting ready to go to Fort
Worth on the 10th and 11th for some training and then the last week of january they are going to go to Mineral Wells for some more training,..Hope your son does well I think that he will enjoy the Navy Life he will make lots of life long friends....hopefully we can talk more

Nice to know there's another mom so close by! Glad your daughter got to come home for the holidays. My son goes back tomorrow. It went by too fast! So far he is enjoying the Navy. I would love to chat more with you. I am on here sporatically, so please forgive me if I don't reply right away.

that is fine dawn I am not on here very often either, I work two jobs one full time and one part time and then I have an 11 yr old in the 5th grade so my time is pretty much taken up...but hey it wld be great to chat with you more...and you pls do not feel bad if I don't get back to you right away...God Bless You and Your Son

Hi Latcha, I am from Lubbock also, my daughter went to great lakes in 2007 right out of high school and then to mississippi for "a" school she is a reservist so she is home right now, she is getting ready to go to Fort Worth for some training and then to Mineral Wells for a week for more training, they have tld them that they will probably be deporting in june or july so we are waiting for that....but hope that your daughter is doing good, I am sure she will do good and enjoy the Navy life, it enjoyed it when I was there back in 1985...maybe we will get to talk some more...

Hi! I'm from San Angelo. My son leaves for San Antonio Wed, 012109 & then on to Boot the next day! Am a bit nervous, but know in my head & heart that he'll be just fine, We are soooo proud of him, but will miss him.

Hello Bonnie, the time will go fast for him, slow for you, but know that he is doing something that he will love and learn lots from and lots about himself, things he didn't know.....and you will learn a lot from him and see him in a different way...he will be fine, and he will do great....you hang in there and if you want to talk we are all here to listen and share....and maybe even cry if we need to....God Bless...
