hi all Im Jill my son is in div 317. we live in cushing, TX. have been here for about 2 1/2 years now. and love it. My so is on the US bataan... we are so proud of him, and miss the heck outa him. glad to meet everyone. Hope to hook up with some of you. Thanks for the invite JiLL Chacon

We got the thirty second call the day after he left and the box today. Today he's been gone one week. I feel bad doing things with the rest of the family because I feel I'm leaving him out. The clothes in the box were scruntched. One of the pant legs was still inside out. I dont know if they made him change in a hurry you know 1,2,1,2 or if it was him being lazy. It broke my heart that his tooth brush was in the box. I've been reading about the pictures the recruits are going to take. Make sure your recruit orders them because it's up to them now. Of course it will be taken out of their pay.

Hi Peggy,
Glad it helped. Just hang in there. It actually goes a little faster than you think it will. A Little. We go to GL next week for Heather's PIR. Cant wait to see her. The letters back and forth are the only thing that have kept me sane. Well, that and this site where I have met so many great friends. You can always count on these ladies to pick you up when you're having one of those famous "bad days". I hope you hear from your sailor soon.

Thanks for the info, Heather's Mom. We just received the form letter today, 2 1/2 weeks after he left for basic. It's good to have an address for him. He feels a little closer somehow. We're looking forward to a letter, too. Oh, we live in Abilene.
