Thanks all-Just got word that our son passed Power School. Watch out Goose Creek...lots of moms headed your way to see their sailors. WOOHOO

Our son, along with many sailors have comps tomorrow which is the final exam for Power School. Many of them, including our son, have an upper resp. infection and or a flu like virus. Please add these young men & women to your prayers.that their health will not distract them for the exam. Thank you all.

Thanks Connie, for that simple and heartfelt prayer. God Bless our brave men and women. And we pray for our commander-in-chief for discernment as he makes decisions about Afghanistan.

Stephanie-Sounds like you had a great time with your new sailor. That is fantastic.
We are headed to Goose Creek, S.C. in 11 days to see our sailor boy graduate from Power School. Very excited here. It will be the first time since Christmas that the four of us have been together. Can not wait until then......

We are back from PIR and had a fantastic trip. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes! Driving from NC, we were able to see some of the US that we had not seen before, and that made the trip interesting. It rained the day of graduation, but the shuttle worked well, seating was fine, though some 'late folks' did have to sit off to the side. I video taped some of it and my son liked looking at it later and seeing his unit as a whole. We had Friday afternoon together and he had all kinds of things to tell us and basically had a great experience and was ready to move on to the next phase! He almost didn't have liberty on Saturday but that changed Saturday morning so we went to Chicago for the day and that was nice. We went to Mass on Sunday morning with him ~there was a new priest celebrating for the first time and though he was doing things differently (according to my son), he still seemed fine and had a nice homily for All Saints Day. The base commander was sitting near us so we were able to briefly talk to him after Mass and he was personable. Drove 13 hours back home and our son is now in Groton CT for a while and enjoying his new place, and we will probably have him home for Christmas. That's all!
