Just guessing every sailor is a Polywog until they cross the Equator, when that happens there is a ceremony, then they become a Shellback.... if they do that twice, then they become a Gold Shellback.

Our Sailors are in paradise on earth !!! They have a few days liberty in the Seychelles Islands, Africa. This is where they filmed the movie ' Castaway ' I'm so jealous, it looks sooo beautiful there

I am not sure what a polywog is. My son Chris is a Sonar Tech. Sounds like a frog or something. LOL

Hi there, I don't know if your Sailor is a 'polywog' or not, my son Matt is. Today is the 'Shellback' ceremony for our 'polywogs' So I think you know what THAT means, right ?

Hi Veronica and welcome. This is my son Chris' first deplyment also. He has been in the Navy almost 3 years. I was not aware what they were doing. My son is very tight lipped about what he is doing. He just says "Mom you know I can't tell you" So I don't ask anymore. lol Anyways it is great to meet you.

I finally found you !! Hi, my name is Veronica and my son Matt is on the USS Anzio. This is his first deployment, and not only do I miss him dearly, but I am very worried about this mission they are on over there with those pirates.
Has anyone else's son or daughter ever been deployed for this or similar reasons before ?
