Does anyone know information about meeting the ship in San Diego?

You will have to get information from your Sailor about anything referring to the ship.  You can do it in code.. No one can give you information tho pertaining to the ship... I'm sorry and understand what you are saying but for the safety of the crew and ship It can not be given from anyone but your Sailor...  I hope he contacts you soon!

They will have a lot of info there. They will not disclose exact dates though. You will have to get those from your sailor.

The ship most likely will arrive in the morning. Last year the Navy rented USS Midway for us, there were thousands of people there the night before the homecoming. You will get a lot of information there.

Thank you! My husband is in contact with his son however the lines of communication for us are strained and he has never been very good about sharing important information. Still hasn't let his dad know all the final information about the Tiger Cruise! Go figure. Dad is approved and going just trying to get the updates from him are few and far between. I just found out from here there was a Facebook page for the ship and they've been gone how long! Not meaning to rant and rave just a little insight as to my needing information. I will check out the sight and keep praying for full disclosure closer to the arrival time. I do understand the need for confidentiality and the safety of our sailors ~ we all want our loved ones back to us safe and sound!

This is also our first experience with deployment even though 2nd duty station. Have no idea how to proceed with homecoming plans once I actually get there. If able to come, looks like I'll be by myself. Very nervous about it all. My son has just signed me up for ombudsman info, he joined deployment almost half way through. He's still learning as well. Was NAS Fallon, NV, so no need to know all this. Where's best place for info. Oh, and I'm coming from GA.... quite a haul to get there.
