For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello ladies, I am so thankful for this site because I feel so out of the loop. I seem to be missing something...I liked the USS Dewert page, but I don't see any recent posts and this is my first time hearing about the care line? Could someone help me out. Fawno, are you on fb? if so you can go like the USS DeWert page and also the DeWert ombudsman. She can you started with information like the care line. If you are having trouble finding it you can friend me I will pm you my name, and I will help you.

This is my son's first deployment also. I'm learning the ups and downs of being a Navy family. I thought having him away from home in Great Lakes for a year was hard, then he was stationed in Mayport and I was thrilled - 4 hours from home. Then he was sent to San Diego for 4 months of school and the family was back to missing him, but we knew he'd soon be close to home again. Now the long deployment....this is definitely the hardest. Everywhere else he's been, I could email, call, or text and my youngest daughter kept close through Skype. I find myself thinking of something, picking up my phone and then realize I can't get in touch. It's hard for mom's, but my heart went out to the husbands & wives and to the kids saying good-bye to their dads or moms. There was one dad-to-be that was certainly going to miss the birth of his child. I admire the strength and sacrifice of those families. We keep them all in our prayers

this is my son's second long deployment on the DeWert....I also pray everyday for their safe return and asked my son to not try any heroics as they all work as a team...I hope to be able to meet some of you on their return. I will definitely be there as I am watching flights every day. Just need to finalize my number of days staying. I know he will take the second leave when they return to allow the sailors with little ones and family to be with their families for Christmas but I don't want him to be alone this year again so I plan on being there for him and my husband will stay home with the dog and my daughter who can't get off work at Christmas time...my all our sailors have a safe and enjoyable voyage.
