So sorry to hear about the injured sailor. I have been following the comments for the past week or so and have prayed for his recovery. Miracles do still happen though (I am one).

You can go to the Navy Advancement Center's facebook page. They break it down by alphabetical listing of rates then break that down into 1st class, 2nd class, and 3rd class. E6 and above (chiefs) are listed separate.

Hi ladies,

Anyone know where the list of promotions is posted?  I haven't heard from my sailor and am dying to know!

Here is a update on Daniel:

He had surgery this morning and they found out his spine is cracked in half & the dr is saying he will most likely never walk again. So very sad. Still very critical

Mrs. David's mom,  what a great idea with the Suduko book.  It is on my list, I often send him pages of puzzles...oh such fun.  Maybe I will fill it with the quotes of his only niece.  She was 4 months old when he went into the Navy....need I say more.  :)

David has aways scoffed at me when I talk about sending him a package, "I don't need anything..." .  But I do want to send him one, I know he'll see others recieving stuff, and maybe he'd feel good getting one.

One thing I gave him at Christmas time was a Sudoku book.  Just a simple little Sudoku book I'd picked up at  Wal Mart right after he left A school.  All summer I'd jot little notes to him in the pages. Notes about special events, dates, memories, like a little journal or diary.  So, while he turns the pages and works the puzzles, theres another note from mom.  I gave it to him just before he left to go back to San Diego, with the instructions to save it until he got to Japan.  So, when he'd relax and scribble in a puzzle, he'd also get a note from mom.  He admitted, some of the notes got him a little choked up!  So, I've started another one.  Made an entry last night about getting his good news.

Thanks Nancy!  I guess I should have read those first :)

Teresa(Ryan's mom) - Lots to learn. The OPSEC guidelines above are serious...best to follow them. Best not to mention dates, locations, details...but that being said, you can read back through all the notes and get a pretty good idea of what you can say. Communication while the boat is underway can be limited by a variety of reasons. We hear from our son sometimes when they are in port and on liberty, but not a lot while he is on the boat. People have lots of ideas about what sailors and others like in a care package, and how to do it. Even how to best pack it. Remember they don't have much storage space.

Congrats to those who have kids who got promotions!

Hi all,

My son is stationed in Atsugi and lives on the base.  He is in a squadron (can I say which one?).  He will be leaving in a few weeks on a deployment (his first).  I am new to all of this so I'm looking for any words of encouragement and suggestions :)
