When I saw the "all hands..." post, I cried, too and sent a quick "Fair winds and following seas..." post to my son, only to have him write back and say that he wasn't gone yet...lol

Hey Navy moms, I have not been in for a while. I just thought I would drop in and say hi to all of you and I see there is new moms too. If any of you new moms have questions, you are in the right place because these women are so amazing with answers to questions and help with fears and just plain help all around. Love this site.

this will be my son's last deployment on the G-Dub. He's been onboard since 2009. Next stop - November - Tennessee! same hemisphere and only 1 time zone away. not entirely sure I'll know how to handle that! :-)

bsb - I'm right there with ya! This is also my first time and I cried too!!! Some were happy tears cuz my son is very anxious for his first cruise but many of the tears are for anxiety. It's that fear of the unknown. Not knowing how much contact I'll have with my son and not knowing where he is or how he's doing. I'm sure this is going to be quite an experience and I'm really thankful to be part of this group and for all the support both from the moms who have "been there" and all of us first timers!

Greetings all! Cheryl thanks for your tips on sending baked goods. We will once again gather here for each other, it is a great place . My son too is finishing up his 2 years in Japan. Where to from here, time will tell, always something new.
