i'm sad i won't be in sd to meet all you guys. we're planning to go to jasons home base, where they apparently fly them right after getting off the ship. when he came home last time, we were on the pier when the ship sailed in and he was one of the first ones off as he was a new dad then as well as he will be this time. it was pretty neat seeing him meet his first son for the first time, and now we will seen him meet nimitz baby peyton as well!

Good morning ladies, hope all are doing well today. Thank you Carol I still
messed up when I wrote what I wanted to say. I said he was going to send
pictures of everybody on the site. Homecoming seems to be so far away
but seems to be coming fast. I write Michael every evening to tell him
good morning and it just seems like I did it a few hours earlier. I am looking
forward to it. I hope I get to be there.

Thanks Julie! I know the air wings planes fly off before San Diego but I would imagine the sailors attached stay on board until they dock. At least I don't remember any sailors being flown off early when we were on the Tiger Cruise. But then I could be wrong, too. LOL

Does anyone know when returning from deployment do the the Sailors with the air wings come in port with the Nimitz and then return to their base? Or do they do something different. You can PM me with any iformation. I am trying to get my work calender for next year together. I know that nothing is ever in stone with this but just a little idea would be helpful. Also if I made homebaked cookies and sent them they would still be fresh? My Sailor only likes chocolate chip though. Just wondering I may try and put something together today. thanks guys !!!!

Link to your blog please, Julie. I would love to have your recipe! My daughter mailed Mike Christmas cookies today and the PO said if mailed priority mail they'll still get there by Christmas so if anyone is wondering if they can still mail - yes, but hurry LOL.
