It may be true in other areas of the ship but the flight deck crew shirts are colored coded to their role; ABFs ("grapes" work w/ fuels; here's information on the other rates: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_US_Navy_carrier_air_operations

The pictures are beautiful!! Yes, I need to get a package out to my son, too. His b'day is next month, so hopefully he will get it in time!! Sorry, but I don't know what a "grape" is. Can someone explain this to me? Thanks!

Another good one Abbyblue! Tim FINALLY got his package and was soooo happy. I sent videos, handheld poker game, magazines and alot of those microwavable meal thingys. He loved the protein bars and granola bars the best of course. So package #2 will go out this week! Just so glad he got it! FYI...the package took 18 days to reach him! This always changes, but at least it will give everybody some idea.

Ren, please do share them - my son, Tyler, is a grape working on the flight deck! I would love to see them! I hope to catch a glimpse of him - having a bad mommy spell the last few days. Thank you so much!

I'm sure they will all be happy when they receive their care packages! :) I sent care package #1 on Friday. They should be getting mails/packages soon..hopefully in a week or so. Anyone has an ABF sailor working on the flight deck?? My boyfriend forwarded me pictures of the "grapes"working on the flight deck that their chief emailed them. I can share them to you!
