Kathy yes we are but kind of confused between Navy Lodge N.Island and Gateway N. Island can you help.Is one closer to the Reagan than the other?

Marianne tanks for the info about the Ca group I will look into that.Good for your new hubby for understanding that a mom needs to see her son after a long time being apart,he sounds like a great guy. I'll let you know about the cruise,I've been in the chat room and a mom thats on there lives in S.D. and says she has heard very good things about the Hornblower cruise.

Brenda, No I haven't, but have heard from other moms here that both are good. Are you in the group for sailors stationed in Cali? Those moms seem to always have some good suggestions too. You will have to let me know how the Hornblower is. Was always a bit curious. If it makes you feel any better... last Thanksgiving the RR came back 2 days prior so I wanted to fly out to see the ship come in and spend the holiday with my son too. Only I came out there. I got married again for the 2nd time a month prior to that and left my poor new hubby and my older son back home! Even though I felt guilty they insisted that I be there for Tim so off I went! Sometimes you just have to do things that make no sense, but always turns out anyway.

Marianne~ booked the Hornblower cruise for Christmas Day am looking for somewhere for Christmas Eve.Have some friends who are saying how can you leave for Christmas when you have other kids here. Well the oldest one is paying for our flight so what does that tell you,they want us to go. booked our room at the Navy Lodge but may try to get into the Gateway instead have you stayed at either place?

Brenda, Never been on the Hornblower myself. Probably worth checking into though. You are going to have such a nice time and a wonderful holiday this year! Makes my heart feel good when this happens!!!!!

Texas Carol, I forgot you were a Reagan mom, thanks for helping with our Holiday project. If it weren't for the support we got from the Reagan, Stennis and Boxer moms we'd never been able to pull this off. Thanks again :-)

Hi All! Just checking in ... taking a break from putting together my Nimitz holiday goodies (yep, they'll be in the mail first thing Monday morning).

Hey Brenda Kay! You will love San Diego. Since Coronado is fairly small, I'm sure your daughter will know all the local spots. There is a nice Italian restaurant (Il Fornai) that is in the bay overlooking San Diego. Of course, San Diego has a ton of restaurants too.

Marianne hoping to go either the 22nd or 23rd and come home the 27th or 28th My daughter is paying for our flights so she will be making the reservations.Made our reservation at the navy Lodge and can cancel days if need be wanted to reserve the Navy Gateway but cant til 11-25 so I'll call then and if can get in there for 42.00 per night instead of 80 per night then well do that.Will look into the Sheerwater for Christmas Eve. do you know anything about the Hornblower cruise?
