My son PIR'd seven years ago.  This is his last week as an enlisted sailor.  He will commission as a Ensign next Friday!

My son is officially no longer a recruit but U.S Sailor just got a 4.8 as a division for battlestations. His group of 10 got a perfect score. hoo-yah!

Navywifeandmom, My daughter is attached to Ft Belvoir too but works for NGA. We also have a son who is located in Virginia Beach and stationed at Dam Neck with a ground command.

Iproudmama, don't give up on this site! It's a wonderful resource for information and connecting to others. Your son should enjoy Goose Creek. I am originally from that area myself and still have family living there. My son graduated bootcamp a couple of years ago (wow, has it been that long already?), went to A school and C schools there then was sent to San Diego for another school and then stationed in on a ship in Washington State.

HizproudMama, Hooyah, Seabee!! My husband is a Seabee (Lt Commander stationed at Ft. Belvoir, VA). Seabee's are a "small community" so they will likely cross paths at some point in your son's career. I am quite partial to them since my dad was also a Seabee.

Teri (Elli's mom), Congrats to your daughter! I hear Pensacola is a fun place to go to school.

I gave up hope on this site. Glad we got some activity on here. I live in Hanover County and my son is graduating BC on May 3rd. After which he will go to Goose Creek SC. for Nuke School!
