Thanks so much momof2 for keeping us posted. I found a local blood drive at which I can donate tomorrow. Thanks for posting the address. Funny card went out today.

Update on injured Sailor:

He stable but still critical. Has a little bit of pneumonia but giving antibiotics to help with that.  Mom is tired & weary but trying to stay strong for her boy.

oh blessings to NF and hubby (true gems!) and your dear son. Karen, we are pulling for you and trust all will work out . Hopefully he will pursue help, counseling, advice, a mentor, spiritual guidence, whatever he needs to get thru this tough time. Peace to your family and please keep us posted.

I wanted to post a big thank you to NF and her hubby.   She gathered the info and sent him by my sons house.  Still havent heard from him and have no real idea why.  But atleast I know hes alive.  NFs hubby spent 25 min on the phone today telling me about my son and their meeting.  Even though theres still something wrong (Im guessing something with PTSD due to his time in Iraq) he was looking clear eyed and healthy and living in a clean house in a decent neighborhood.  Hopefully what ever demons are keeping him from his family and friends passes quickly. At least I can sleep at night thanks to these two wonderful people!!!!

Got my appointment at the Red Cross for Sunday.  Will send a card as well. The fact that he is alive is miraculous.  I lost a dear friend of mine when I was a freshman in college to a motorcycle accident.

sad sad....I'm getting chills just thinking about this vibrant young man.  Sending a card tomorrow.

Any idea on his prognosis for complete recovery?  I heard it is all internal injuries - no broken bones to deal with as well?  My heart goes out to his mother - I cannot imagine seeing my son laying in a hospital bed after an accident - would break my heart.

Thanks for keeping us posted.  I am going to go to the Red Cross and donate in his name.
