Hello Moms!!  My son finally got mail yesterday.  The Very first package that we sent arrived.  He was so happy.  We are at least getting e-mails now.  There was another opsec warning on the Facebook page of the ship however, so that may be changing.  I don't get it.  Why can't people keep their mouths shut?

Glad you heard from him, I know it eases your heart. Once in a while they might get mail quicker. Just depends on how long the mail waits to leave the states on a supply ship. Once the timing was perfect and my son got mail in a little over 2 weeks. Hopefully everyone learned the lesson about loose lips. I found it helped pass the time by planning the next box and picking items up when I was running errands. Sometimes I would write a letter like a diary, just telling what we were doing different days.

You must be so relieved. Happy for you.

Hello Wisconsin Moms,  How is everyone doing?  For those of you who don't know, my son is currently on his first deployment.  Before they left port there was a security breach (someone posted something on facebook) on one of the ships in the fleet.  Things got changed and the were running silent for quite a while.  They are now able to email from there navy acct.  It is good to get those emails, even though he can't say anything.  At least we know he is o.k.  For future reference, he has been out of port since October 20, and as of Saturday, they had still not gotten any mail.  It takes a long time.

Thank you.  If I can just make it through today.  One day at a time.

Just to let you all know that after today I will be off site for awhile.  My husband has decided to take me away for a week.  He arranged for both of us to have time off.

Thank you everyone.  I had my last contact with my sailor for a while last night.  He said they will be going silent for 30-60 days.  That is going to drive me crazy.  I don't have to talk to him, but knowing I can't even get a text is very hard.  The worst part is now we are not even sure where they are going.  Someone was blabbing stuff on Facebook, and they have canceled some port visits.  Thanks everyone for the advice.  I will be checking in to the Blue Star Mothers.

Smoothsailing, I do believe that all sailors are assigned to a ship.  They dont all get deployed right away, but  they do have a ship.  That is what the sailors wait for when they are in A School.
