What great picture of you and your daughter.Hard to tell who is mother and who is daughter. My daughter arrived in GL Tuesday about 8p.m. I recevied a call that night from her saying she had made it. Today when she called she started crying when she heard my voice. So did I after she started. I was trying to be strong for her. But she did tell me that it was that back. The food was awlful. And they hadn't started PT's yet. Processing took a long time. She told me that I should get her address in a couple of days. She got to talk for about 15 mins. They got to sleep in today until 6. Hope this helps you

Hi! My son just arrived in GL today. I received my call around 3:00pm, but he didn't say anything about his division or PIR date. His phone call sounded a little scripted, so I thought I would keep it short. What made your daughter join the navy?

hi. thanks for commenting me back. bet it was just fantastic to get that call. Everytime the phone rings here i race to it. I've told everyone not to answer it because i'm not sure if they get to wait for me. or if they just say what they have to say to anyone who answers the phone. i'll let you know more when i find out more.

Awww Sweetie . . . Hang in there:)! It really DOES get better . . . even tho' there's highs and lows:)!
He left the end of Jan 2008 and having this site helped a TON!!! I was able to connect with a few others in his same division and get an idea of what he was doing . . . my hubby (who was in the Navy in the 70's) just didn't understand WHY I wanted to know . . . DUH, 'cause he's my kid - LOL:)!
There's so much more information available to us now, even videos of week by week of Boot Camp:)!
As soon as you have the division number, you can find out when PIR (Boot Camp graduation) will be and connect with others on the same time frame . . . It was really cool to hear from another mom that her kid said something in a letter about my kid:)!
GIANT HUGS to you:)!

My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy for 2 years and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz. What is your daughter doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your Sailor. Pat

P.S. Come join our group, Navy Mom's of Daughter's.
