About me:
I am the mother of 7 children... my oldest son was in the Navy 20 years ago and one of my younger children is now in the Navy. I am Proud to be a member of "Blue Candle Moms" My son at this time is in Pensacola, will then go to Virginia... so am on hold. I have 13 grand children and waiting for number 14... I still have two children in High School.

The blue candle burning for my sailor and military means to me as I pass by a little prayer is said for their safety. It is a reminder to all who come in my home, someone is serving our country and all are remembered.
I am here to support or represent my:
Christopher
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Patience, hurry up and wait... THIS WONDERFUL WEBSITE! All the friends I have met who walk in my shoes, share my thoughts and cry my tears. And to be a blue candle mom.....always.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

You are close to me. I have a brother-in-law there and we go visit when we get a weekend off. Can you please tell me how I go about getting the candles and how much they cost?
Thanks,
Vicki

I'm only a hop, skio, and jump from you! Thanks so much for your support; please accept my apologies for not keeping in the best of contact with you. Have been on short-term disability since April-this year. Have a severe skin disorder, and it has caused me so much pain; hope to return to work very soon. Take Care and hope to talk with you soon.

Hi Alisha, Where is Chris now? I guess the last time we chatted was when we were going to car pool to a greet and meet. What is the latest?

Cody will be leaving P-cola for Whidbey Island, Wa. in 2 weeks and he is assigned to a P3 Orion 1st alert plane, but he is going to end up in Korea. He thinks he will get 18 mo. training in Whidbey Island, but he might be dreaming! Another Mother said her son was pulled out of C school and shipped off to Korea. I think Cody chose the P3 because he did not want to get on an aircraft carrier.

Since Chris is ahead of Cody and has been transferred a time or two perhaps you can be of some help to Cody’s next venture.
1. Cody is very concerned about having the funds to get to Whidbey Island from San Antonio Area. He says he cannot get any information on what to expect for funding. He knows he gets travel pay but it will cost him $700 or more to get there. He has 1 week leave, 1 week of HARP then is only allowed 4 days to get to Whidbey (48 hr driving time). Can you shed light on how this funding is received and the time line?
2. Cody will be driving and we have a nephew he can stay with in Albuquerque, and a bother in Colorado Springs. do you know of anyone that would put him up for a night and feed him a meal that would be 8 to 10 hours in the Seattle direction?

I would appreciate any light Chris or you could shine on this mystery and outreach.
Thanks so much, Lynn

Hi Alice, Sorry haven't been in touch lately, been really crazy around here. Jacob is in Norfolk and I am really excited, I get to spend Memorial weekend with him and his friends. Will be a blast. You know that call - the one when you are talking to them and all you hear in the background is "hi mom". I wanted to thank you also, back in Nov, you told me someday I could say I survived navy mom bootcamp - well I did and I get to now help my sister, her son just joined the marines. I found a really cool website that has all kinds of t-shirts. They have one that says military mom - will kick, distract, shove, push, do whatever it takes to get to the ringing phone, I think it should be issued to all moms when their children go to boot camp.
Have a good day
Toni

Hi Alicia, my name is Lynn and as you can see my son is in the navy. He just graduated from "A" School for Corpsman.
The reason why I am e-mailing you, I can not find the color blue that you have on your web site or blog or comment. I'm new to this, please excuse me. I have gone to Wal-mart,K-mart,Michalel's, A.I.Root in Medina Ohio, all of the local food stores. Nothing. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you Lynn in Newbury,Ohio
