Good Morning Everyone :) Yesterday was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, I was very thankful to be a part of it. Gavin is so good, and so happy, and what an amazing transformation. He went in a boy and is now definately a young man. ...

I know this week will seem like the longest ever. Remember we are here to hold you up and help you be strong. My sailor is in P'cola, he passed his AWAT test (Advanced Weapons and Tactics) last week and is hoping to start his A school classes this week. His rate is Aviation Machinists Mate-AD. He says he is coming home for Christmas but nothing definite yet. I'm so excited to see him again! Please say hi and give a hug to our adopted sailor in Div. 004.

Hi Alli, I'm from the 10-9-09 PIR group. I saw this in another group after our weekend and thought I'd pass it on. If you go to pick up your sailor Sat. or Sun. morning get there early, before the time they are being released and wait at the end of the parking lot close to the chapel. They march the sailors from barracks to the chapel and then give them liberty. Pretty awesome watching them march up. I never saw this but read it on another group site, so I can't guarantee they always do it this way, but it would be cool to watch.

Alli, That is GREAT news!!! I know it's a relief to finally have a date..Good for him!!! I know this has been a difficult time for you all and I'm so happy to that he's own his way to graduation. I will call Garett today and tell him the good news!! I will let you know soon about his schedule. He hasn't even started his A school yet (oh hold til Jan) so, unless he's on call that weekend, he will be free. I know he would enjoy spending some time with Gavin!! Please give Gavin our best and thanks for keeping me posted on the good news!!!

Thank you. I am just hoping that he will make it. We may not know anything until we land in Chicago. I am hoping that if he is delayed that they will let him call before Wednesday. My dad is driving from Kennesaw straight thru to Chicago on Wednesday. I am worried that I will have to turn him around in Kentucky.

I am so happy to hear that Gavin is doing well. That is awesome! We still need to do a lunch with Elaine and Mary.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That there comes a point when you have to let go, and let them grow up. Our sailors recruiter has answered so many of our questions, and now we are starting to feel alot more comfortable with everything.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
