Happy Friday everyone!
Talked to Wes for a long time last night. He is off today, Sat. & Sun. and he is going exploring! Sleeping in a coffin like space & living in steel does not seem to bother him at all at this point (that may change over time...

Thats a good thing then, wait you will learn so many more Navy things when he starts his work on the ship, all new acronyms, and new people, everyday I learn something new and I still feel Navy dumb most of the time. Best of luck with his new comm...

The barges are tough....cant take cells on them, not very comfortable conditions, hopefully he will get a spot on the ship when it comes back.
Honestly I dont know. The only thing I know is a friend of my daughter is ships company, and she does live on the ship during the week. I am guessing the higher the rate, then they may get some type of housing/barracks? A ship in San Diego was und...
Hey Kathy, No I did know about that! They are coming back real soon! Won't say when of course. :o) Do you know if sailors live on ships while they are recharging?? Thank You for the information!!!

- My name is Amanda. I've been married a little over a year and been with my husband for almost 3 yrs. We have two kids, Dakota who is 5 and Alyssa who is 16 months. And a chihuahua named Riley. Nathan joined the Navy back in June and leaves for boot camp on Jan. 26th. There's so many things I don't know and so many things I'm looking forward to learning about the Navy?
Ok well Nathan left this morning for meps!!! And will be at boot camp tomorrow sometime.....Im so nervous about him being gone for so long and me at home with the kids by myself!? I know things will get easier from here on but its still so hard to adjust to him not being home every night for supper or talking to him throughout the day! I miss him like crazy already....I dont think the kids have really realized that Daddy wont be home for awhile(but then again they are pretty young and dont understand that much) our 5 year old knows daddy is going to boot-camp but im not so sure he truly gets that daddy wint be home for awhile! Ill keep everyone updated as things progress!!
I just got the form letter and "box" today(2/2) He's in ship 7 Div.132 USS Chicago and PIR's on March 20th!!! Let the countdown begin!!!
I got a phone call from Nathan yesterday!!! It was so awesome to hear his voice. It made my day and I'm still in great spirits today. Never knew how much a phone call could do for me!!? He's doing well said things are getting easier and that he has passed all his tests thus far!!

- WOW!! Seems like you're gonna miss the hockey play-offs but if you can be with Nathan, that is too cool. How is school going for him? Any nibbles on where he may be stationed after A school? And a new one on the way....when
you have news...YOU HAVE NEWS!! Congrats. Make sure you take good care of yourself and keep me posted. Even though we only met for that brief period at the Komet game (by the way you can listen to the games on the Komet home page) I still keep both you and Heather in my prayers.

I just returned from a vacation in Washington DC and have missed most of the playoff games. the one we could go to is in Kazoo.
