Your son was a pleasure...no trouble at all. He did make us laugh, he is so funny. My husband loved him. He is welcome here and seems to be doing good. I know it is hard not being able to see them but he seems to be doing good... the group of guys seem to all watch out for one another. He is young (19) like my son so I know it is even a little harder. He is welcome here anytime or if you need for anything for him or you please call me. I will send you my number to your email when I send the pics. love lisa

P.S. Is that you on that motorbike? How brave are you?!! Brad has a Yamaha 1100 series...only about 15 plus years old. I use to ride with him but I just can't make myself do it anymore. Too scared of crazy drivers around these parts.

So, he is in Missouri now? I'm glad they have a soccer team for him...nice way to stay fit and relax at the same time. He must play a lot....3 pair of sneakers?!! I hope he went out to get his laptop. It is great being able to get a message to my son and dil through e-mail although Bobby loves calling so we can hear each other and he likes to catch up with his brother.
Bobby started classes and Elice will start Monday. They cannot be in the same classes but they will hold Bobby so they can graduate together. The classes sound so complicated to me and then they have mandatory study time in the evening at one of the buildings. They will be very busy for the next 8 weeks but Bobby said he will try to make Sundays our phone call days.
Will Mike learn how to repair as well as operate the machines? Bobby and Elice said the same thing about the Officers at Goose Creek...it may be as strict as boot camp, but they are more approachable and have a better sense of humor.
Have a great weekend!!

They were told a few days before liberty it was shortened. It was a blow but we enjoyed the 2 1/2 days we had. I had their things pretty much in order. I did last minute sorting out while they visited and whatever isleft I will bring in August when I get vacation time.
Any call yet from Mike? I guess it may be awhile....but have a couple of weeks liberty will be so great, huh...even if he does not get the whole 3 !! Anything is good!
Running late this morning for work, but I wanted to stop by and say Hi. I will write more later tonight....take care!

I certainly know what you mean. By the time we were able to climb down from the balcony all the divisions were migrating and mixing. If Bobby's dad had not been standing next to him I would have walked past him!!
So Mike will get a few weeks to visit home? That IS nice. Elice and Bobby were suppose to get a full week but they shortened it to 4 days at the last minute. They meaning the Navy. How long did Mike sign up for? B&E are in a minimum of 4 years. Right now they are determined to make it a career.
Did his CO tell him about Iraq and Guam? When will this happen? What duties will he have as a Seabee?
If I ask too many questions...my apologies. I know you are in limbo as far as organized information right now.
You know, I've been teaching myself how to breath again. Most of my stress is gone and I noticed when they called about the shortened visit I was not as frustrated. Bootcamp took a lot out of me ... considering our Sailors were the ones dealing with it!! But we had no control...no information and no real communication....only what they could jot down between IT's and duties. I quit breathing. Nothing complicated - I just take a moment and breath.
Well, take care, I'm so glad Bootcamp is over....on to new Adventures!!

I was so tickled that Mike wrote me. I told him Bobby's last name is Pavlovich. Bobby tried to tell me why he was not in the group photo...he was detained on some duty or maybe that is when they decided to put him in the Fitness Program....when he ordered this photo he must have forgotton he was not in it. He does not regret buying it, though...they were his shipmates. I believe you told me before that Mike had his taken with his new division so he has both group photos. Good memories!
Bobby and Elice made it back to Goose Creek at 1am this morning. It is a 12 hour drive on a good day and I'll bet they ran into bad weather. I'm sure they had to stop to eat and rest a bit. It ran them about 15 hours.
I'm so glad they bought a GPS system before they left.
They were able to get a nice duplex on base. They will live there until they finish A-school and then they will find a place off base when they are able. I am hoping the Navy leaves them in SC....I think the only other Nuke area is NY. I lived in Syracuse for awhile and I know how beautiful areas of NY can be....but right now it is just too far for us to travel and Air prices are quite high too. We only had two full days to visit and pull their things together - I'm not complaining it was wonderful. And we are going to visit them this summer.
So where does Mike go from here? Will he be on a ship? Wasn't the PIR wonderful....I hope none of the Grads passed out....our PIR lost about 4 grads 20 minutes before the end. Elice said they may have locked their knees...it will cut off circulation and cause you to faint. That is why they had the officers walk up and down the grad lines during the ceremony. They are called body snatchers and it is their job to catch those going down and take them outside for air.
And it snowed?!! We had some bad storms here. Some weather, huh?
Take care on the trip home. So glad to hear from you and Mike. Made my day!

Feenie (her grandma), Jo (her best friend) and I decided to rent a car. But our hotel had PIR shuttle service and those who chose to use it actually arrived earlier than we did and had the best seats!! We arrived at 8 and by the time we made it through the line (both of them) we had to sit in the balcony...bleh. So if you get there about 7-7:30 you will make good time and possibly get seats designated to the Division Families. If I remember correctly the shuttles and buses did not have to wait in a long line to get ID'd at the gate to park on base. They will direct you to first building to check in and then you cross the street where the Assembly Bldg is located.
While you are there you can shop at the NEX. They have some nice mugs, keychains and other fun stuff. It is like a mini Walgreens and gift shop. There is also what they refer to as Ricky Heaven....a food court and arcade in the same bldg as the NEX. If there is not a lot of time to visit that is a good place to sit for awile. Bobby and Elice had their duties during the grad weekend so with the little time they had we watched them play around the arcade!!
Bobby is here loading their things in the U-haul. It is hard to say good-bye again. I'm glad you wrote. Gave me a minute to compose myself. I am so use to having their things here....like having a part of them still at home. I still have a bit more to pack for them and it's done. We just need to get to storage tomorrow for the furniture and then they have to leave. Their Liberty ends Sunday at 7AM. They want to be on base by Sat. evening.
Let me know if I can be of anymore help. I'm keeping my page open.
The PIR is so awsome...bring tissues!
