Profile Information

About me:
I have a son who went in the Navy in 2003, did 4 years as an Aviation Ordnanceman, with two deployments to the Persian Gulf working long hours on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier, and then got out. He went back in Dec 1st 2008, but changed his rate to Intelligence Specialist. He is now an IS3 stationed in Nevada.
I also have a daughter, my youngest, who finished A school as a Personnel Specialist on Oct 24, 2008 and her first orders are to Kitsap, Washington. Both my husband and I are also both Navy veterans.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Although I spent my young adult life in the Navy myself, it sure is different when your children make this decision, especially my daughter. I've had to learn to let go.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi, I know how you felt, been there myself a few times. It's awful. Then you start waiting for the next time you can see them.

Daniel noticed right away how very quiet our house is compared to a building full of guys. He has two friends here and they are staying 24 hours a day to be with Daniel. I hate sharing him that much but what are you going to do? They like people their own age to hang with right? By the way Daniel thinks your girl is cute.

Are you back from your trip to Washington? My son is home on leave, Yeah! I was showing Daniel my page on N4M's and he saw your daughter, thinks he met her, said he went into their office to get his badge fixed, was wearing his cammies (sp?) his work uniform and she was there. He thinks our house is quiet after living with so many guys. I hope he doesn't get bored with us old folk, ha ha

Hi Anna. So nice to hear from you. How are you and your sailor/family. Thanks for checking on us. I trust all is well. My sailor is good, thanks for asking. We saw him for the leave and then the 2 weekends after. You know how they are when they come home. I was glad to see him and give him hugs. I hope you and your family have a blessed, happy week. Hugs and blessings.

Hi, I did see something about your job when I came to your page to say Hi. Did you know Kaye had to cancel her trip this week to Bangor? But her son is going to come home instead. I did remember you were going but had forgot what date. Daniel says that he gets Thanksgiving to come home for a few days but I have trying to get him to take leave. He hasn't taken any yet and he has a month saved. I can't understand why he doesn't want to, he can't be having that much fun at Bangor, can he ? I even asked one of his friends why and they couldn't figure it out either. A friend who he went in the navy with and is stationed at Bangor hasn't taken any either. Wierd huh

Anna, where have you been? the Bangor, Kitsap group is missing you, come back, come back, where's Marie? Did she get the job? It's so funny, I can be gone for the longest time and when I get back to NFM's everyone disappears, funny huh
