Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
As we all know. . .time marches on. . .so enjoy each moment with your Sailor and cherish every piece of mail he/she sends your way!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Anne: What a wonderful trip! The graduation was WOW! You could feel the pride in the room for our saliors and for our country! And you bet I used many, many tissues! You can see how hard they have been working. Matthew was second in his class and got the USO award. Their class was 848 people by the end. He is enjoying it! When I finally got to hug him I would not let go for about 2 minutes!! We are so very Proud of him!! My husband, our youngest son, Matthews girlfriend & her Mom went. When graduation and the visit to The Nex were over, we went out to have REAL Pizza! DEEP DISH Chicago pizza!! (My husband & I were raised in Chicago). Then spend time in Gurnee Mills Mall. He had to fly out the next morning, but we were able to go & say a quick goodbye. We stayed with one of my sisters. And when we were on the way back from the airport we gave Matthew's girlfriend a tour of the city & the neighborhood we grew up in on the East Side. We also too them to the Museum of Science & Industry, it's about 4 acres inside & 3 floors.. My husband & I used to be tour guides there. The trip home took longer, mostly because of the rock slide. But all in all it was a trip that was well worth all of the effort!! He is now in Charleston SC for A school, then will saty there also for his Nuke school. Hope all is well with you and yours!! TTFN!

Anne: I cannot believe how I left a boy off at the recruiter's office 8 weeks ago and now we met a mature forward thinking young man. Our Son Josh did so great. He is focussed and is learning and willing to work hard to do the job! I am so excited for him and his future!

Hi Anne. I've been having computer problems at home and I've been so busy at work I never can even take a break to get on Navy for Moms! How is Jason? Does he like it there? Will he be able to come home for Thanksgiving? I don't hear often from Robert, he's too busy studying, I think about 5+ hours a night. I hope he can make it home for Thanksgiving.

Hi Anne: I am so sorry I had to miss the get together! I did not feel 100% till Saturday. I am glad there were 7 people there though! That's great! I did get a call from Matthew last Friday!! He already sounds older. He has gained 10 pounds. But believe it or not he is enjoying himself. He is so glad he is in the Navy even if he misses everyone. We took thinking of you cards to our & his sunday school class & had people sign their names or write a little note. Anyway, I hope all is well with you and your family!! TTFN!
