on november 4th, 2008, erik left for boot camp. it was very hard to watch the most important part of my life get on that bus and pull away. he gave me that one last hug that id have to keep in my heart until the next time i saw him. later that night it really hit me that erik would actually be away from me for such a long period of time. we were used to spending every day together when we werent working or i wasnt in class. we constantly watched movies, played the wii, went out, had friends over, ate lots of food, went on long drive or "road trips" :) and more... well after realizing that my entertainment and my life was gone for awhile, i cried for a long time that evening. although things got better, it was always hard to get thru each day... but i tell you one thing, the main reason that helped me get thru him being away were those awesome letters. he wrote me a lot and he would tell him all about his training and experiences. he'd also of course tell me how bad he's missing me. :) i told myself in the beginning that no matter how hard this would be for the both of us, i had to stay strong. i can't keep letting my tears and emotions get the best of me. i kept myself busy with work, friends, class, family... i never had any down time. which was great. with each letter i sent him, i would send a picture in the envelope. after he recieved a few letters from me, he asked for me to send 5 times the amount of pictures. even though stamps got a little pricey putting two on each envelope, i continued to send tons of pictures. pics of me and things that have been going on, like activities...
November 26th, i found out that we would be able to travel to great lakes, IL where he was at on christmas morning to pick him up! i went with his mom, step dad, and two younger sisters. after seeing him walk thru the hall entry at the hotel i lost it. i came running and screaming. he picked me up with lots of hugs and big kisses. spending christmas day with him was the best christmas i could ever hope for.
he looked different. i hadn't seen him in almost 60 days. he lost a lot of weight. and gained a lot of muscal. and with the weight lost it looked like there was height gained. he was already 6'4 so he looked like a gaint compared to me. seeing his face light up when he first saw me was a wonderful memory i will never forget... it was priceless.
i've heard many negative stories from people about seeing your sailor after bootcamp. i heard they're very quiet and they're akward. erik was not like that one bit. he couldn't wait to tell us everything! he was so talkative and happy. we're very proud of him.
today is december 26th, the day after christmas. i saw erik yetserday and that was one of the greatest days ive had in a long time. graduation is january 2nd, next weekend; and i am more than excited to go see him again. i am very proud of everything he's done. he is such an amazing guy. i can't wait to spend that weekend with him and his family while he has liberty.
:)

--- now all we have to do is set a wedding date and do some planning! we hope to get married within the next year or two!!

important question...

my husband is in A school right now in Great Lakes, IL. this coming weekend he has duty and isnt supposed to leave the base. We recieved news last night the a family memeber has passed away who both of us were very close to. does anyone know if i call the redcross number or who i contact to try to get him home for the funeral?
he really wants to be here for me and support our family...

Wedding :)

I finally got to marry my sailor! we had an amazing, yet very emotional day. it was a beautiful wedding with a huge turn out! we had tons of friends and family there supporting us thru every step of the way!

erik finally came back home for the first time!!!

erik left for bootcamp on november 4th, 2008. and he was finally able to come home o visit february 6th, 2009-february 8th, 2009. i picked him up from NSTC in Great Lakes, IL that friday after noon and we were able to spend the entire weekend together! i hadn't seen him since PIR weekend which was January 2nd, 2009.
the weekend he came home was such a relief for the both of us. we were able to just relax and just talk about how everythings been going for us.

Jared is planning on doing cryptology and possibly joining the seals in two years! i hope he sticks with cryptology though! the seals are a lot more intense and more of a commitment! he is in Pensacola right now! he wants to hopefully make it a career but who knows...he may change his mind!! :)

I think you're probably right about that guy... I'm glad you're better today.. Some just want others to be unhappy. I put Charley in quotations so you'd know who I was refering to...
