FYI, even if leave is approved that can change for any reason at a drop of a hat.

You can got but it is up to his CO as to whether he can take leave or not on deployment.

I visted my daughter 3 times when she was stationed in Italy. I highly recommend it. I also visited my daughter in San Diego and Ireland. Try and stay in the Navy hotel on base it is sooo cheap you wouldn't believe it. Also very very nice, safe too!…

How far in advance can he request leave? Or how far in advance will it be likely that he knows when he can get leave? He hasn't even been in a year so he is not familiar with this process, or how it is different when deployed vs. being on base here…

I would get your passports now. That process can take a while. Then he would have to let you know when he has leave and where you could stay. Then you could plan. It would be a great way to see that part of the world especailly if he has found some…

Welcome to Navy for Moms. My sailor is currently waiting for final orders to go to Hawaii. He is a sonar tech aboard a submarine. He's been in for a year now and I'm excited that he gets to go to Hawaii! You'll find a wealth of information here on this site. We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing.
