He decided to go through Atlanta instead and it sounds like it was a good idea from what I've heard about the storm your area had! He's heading back this Saturday and is talking about going 25-70 instead of I-81 to I-26. We're not sure that is the best idea. Would your recommendation of 81/26 be the better, safer choice?

- Becky, I saw you live in Asheville. My nuke is leaving SC early tomorrow morning and driving through Asheville towards Illinois. With the storm, we're thinking he should take I-26 to 81 to Knoxville instead of the 25-70 route that the NCDOT recommends (to detour around the rock slide). Is I-26 likely to be cleared by tomorrow, and do you know of a good way for him to get a road conditions report as he is coming through your area? Or should he avoid your area completely?

Thank you so much! I can't remember Gregory Section. I know he started on Nov 23. He might need a ride. He said he will ask he friend from Ohio to drop him off in Asheville. That will be very helpful for us. He probably didn’t know where Stephen lives. I will talk to Gregg again today and let him know. But he will need a ride to Charleston for sure after Christmas and New Year. Please e-mail me at fpopular@haywood.edu so I can e-mail you my number. We need to get together and have lunch one day! We are so close from each other.

-I printed out your blog(?), so I could read it at my "leisure" (Ha, what leisure?). I also checked out the links, there was a lot of good information there, as well. Thanks!
-I plan to check out flying into Milwaukee instead of Chicago. There was a comment from a gentleman about the high taxes on rental cars. We have that here in Houston as well.
-I guess, that as a parent we just won't know how much time our sailor will have to spend with us after graduation, until we hear from him in that 3rd week.
-The Marine Corps Graduation (the only one I am familar with) is every Friday. Parents day is on Thursday with a ceremony in which they receive their EGA and can now be called Marines. After graduation on Friday the new Marines have have at least a week of leave.
-I wish I had gone thru the Navy Graduation first, I like to go from confused to less confused, every chance I get.

Shanda Marshall said… - Darrick called me on Thursday from a pay phone. His cell phone, laptop, and ipod are in his bag so once he has that I'll be able to keep in touch by cell and through myspace. My whole family pretty much keeps in touch through myspace these days. Thanks again for seeing that Darrick gets his stuff and please tell Andy thank you for me. Darrick says he really likes it there so far. That makes it so much easier for me. It's going to be nice being able to talk to him on regular basis again. I hope Stephen likes it as well.

- Hi, Becky. Hope you guys made it home safe. We had a long 14 hr drive home, but we finally made it. It was really hard for me to say goodbye to Darrick again. Haven't had much time to really check out this site, but I'll have more time this weekend. I have to go back to work tonight after being off for about 2 weeks. My Dad passed away a 3/17, so we had the funeral on Monday and then Darrick's graduation on Friday. It's been crazy trying to get things back to normal around here, or at least my post-Darrick normal. It's still so strange not having him here. It's so hard to let them go. Thank you for taking his stuff for us. I hope we get an address soon. I guess today is their big moving day. I'm praying for them.
