Enless wait the SAGA continues

Make sure he can get to MEPS on the first processing day of the month, or atleast that first week. We are starting to filter in our QNJ's.

Enless wait the SAGA continues

It should be legit. I know I have made pretty good friends with the classifiers that handle these situations and a lot of times I can get my people at the top of the list. As a matter of fact just th…

Cell Phone Useage

That's really weird. In the 8 years I have been in I have never had my cell phone taken away for a few days at a time. I guess you should talk to them and find out what's goin on!

Anxious..It depends on if you have what's called a local test site near your local recruiting office. If the office is close to MEPS then you just go to MEPS and take your ASVAB. If your station is a long ways away from MEPS then you might have a lo…

I have never told anyone to get a medical power of attorney before. Actually I don't think I even know what one is but you probably don't need it. If it is just to get records or something then a general power of attorney should cover all that. I do…

It would be easier if you don't live on base and just live out in town and let them pay you a housing allowance.

Na, I don't think it is necassary. When you go over seas with the Navy your covered. Now if you want to travel outside the US on your own time then you one.

hey so i'm thinking about enlisting! but my recruiter (although very convincing) makes it sound almost like summer camp and I know it is not! So i know there are good and bad things about jobs and i almost just want you to tell me the bad parts too i know that sounds weird but i want to know what i'm getting myself into! also do i have a better chance of getting the job i want if i get a good asvab score?

Brandonw409 My son is going in Feb 2nd to Basic, and he is working on getting out of his lease. Do you have any experience with this? He is 24 and has been on his own for several years.

Thanks

Welcome to AECF group Brandon! I've been out of town for a few weeks so late with my welcome party ;-) I started the AECF group because I was an FC wife for 10 years and now our son is an FC as well (Aegis Spy Radar) and is serving with the USS Chung Hoon out of Pearl Harbor. How long have you been Navy? Is this your first shore duty? I see you are a recruiter, I know there are not alot of options for FCs for shore duty. My hubby got his Master Training Specialist NEC and taught at Mare Island (now closed) for his shore duty. We lived in Yokosuka for seaduty and loved it.

Have you met my friend CCR yet? Her son is a CIWS as well with the Blue Ridge and she lives in Texas!

Hi, yes I have a question about my son's recruiter and why it may be taking so long for him to get to MEPS. Zach has been in contact with his recruiter since late June. He went in, expressed his interest in the Navy and decided to start the action of enlisting. So far, he has had a medical evaluation of a hand injury which was cleared. All the necessary paperwork and documents have been turned in, but he still has not taken the ASVAB or been to MEPS. Honestly, his recruiter seems disorganized, and uninterested to me. He has told Zach that he needs to have his Medical records evaluated, when Zach already got word from him, that they were approved, or cleared. It is frustrating, and since my son is almost 21, he wants to handle this on his own.
without my interfering.
I have suggested mayeb seeing another recruiter, but Zach is afraid of losing more time or the word getting back to the current recruiter and making things worse....any thoughts??

According to my son's enlistment contract, he was supposed to be promoted to E-2 upon completion of Recruit Training. When I saw him last week at PIR, he was still an E-1. He said he would be promoted once he started A school, but he was also told he might be on hold for 4 months.
He does not seem to concerned, but I spent 10 years in and I know how important the advancement dates can be when you are going for that next stripe.
Should he work this up his chain of command or do they have a personnel office on GL for him to go too?

Brandon, I have an important question, my fiancee is currently at BC, and her PIR is on Oct 16, we had been planning to do a quick wedding after her graduation, which her RDC said it was no problem, and the recruiting office here in Panama City said it was no problem, but now she's saying another RDC gave her a different answer and told her she can't get married until she reaches her A school, otherwise she'll get kicked out of the Navy. Could you give me a clarification on this, because it seems like we are just getting different answers from all directions.
