Yes, Sandy, in fact, my husband is leaving tomorrow for a business meeting at the U of I. He would love to retire but alas, too many financial woes. The work keeps him mentally stimulated, though.

Natmichbell, I 'm sorry. No, I was talking about last year's tiger cruise. As of a day ago, they still do not know if the Gridley will have a tiger cruise this deployment. Don't give up hope, though. Things can develop very quickly.

Peggy said… - Hi Carla, thanks for the reply...it is really nice to have a connection with other mom/wives who have sailors on the same ship...It was great for us when Justin was in boot to have the connecitons. This is his first deployment. So far we have been able to get e-mail, that is a lot better than when he was in boot! He and his wife are expecting their first child (my first grandchild) around the time he thinks they may be returning.....hope he makes it back in time, if not I will try to be there. Unfortunately they have not made any aquaintances with other wives from the ship so her group of friends there is very small. I wish she knew more people for support there while he is gone. If she was not working she could come home during this time. I will probably worry more about her than Justin during this time.lol.

- About me:
- My husband and I are still sweethearts and best friends after 36 years of marriage. We have three sons. The oldest is married and they are expecting our first grandchild in January! (It's a girl!) Our youngest son is in his first year of college and our sailor is our middle son. I keep quite busy with volunteer work for church and other organizations, and love planning trips and activities. Decorating, antique and gift shopping, card making, and computer info searching are so much fun that I don't leave enough time for housekeeping. It's a good thing my husband loves me anyway.
