You know he may have been young but when you see him you will not beilieve how grown up and different he seems. It was amazing to me the first time I saw Mo when she got out of Boot Camp and then when I saw her again on Friends and Family day. She was so much more focused....It took her along time to feel like she could ask questions but she got over that too. Tell him when in doubt if he isn't sure and needs a shoulder or someone who will beable to direct him and not make him feel silly..go talk to the chaplain. Morgan went through a time when she didn't seem to get any decent answers from her chiefs or the Petty Officers and called crying....I was helpless. I told her to go ask the chaplain that he would treat her with respect and give her some direction...She did and she was very satisfied with his help. Since she is female she tends to have to work twice as hard sometimes to prove herself...but was that way for a lot of the younger sailors too.

Have a great day.

My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy for 2 years and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz.. What is your son/daughter doing with the Navy? P.S. I live in Philadelpha, come join our group, PA Navy Mom's.

I know...I tell my daughter every day she is my HERO...I don't think she still understands how proud I am. But it's OK...I just keep telling her. The Family day is a great experience. Wear Tennis shoes or comfortable shoes. You will do lots of standing on the flight deck and hanger bay......Lots of standing. The airshow is spectacular. Dress cool because yes it will be HOT....They will have all the food and water you want to drink from the time you get on the ship till you get off. I wouldn't be taking a lot of stuff you have to carry. When you get back into port in the evening which is about 6:30 they will have started clean up in the hanger bay which means the chairs will be picked up and you'll have to stand in line to get off. We didn't get off the ship till about 9:00 p.m. so we stood in line for 3 1/2 hrs. And believe me, by then, your exhausted because you have had to arrive at the gate at the crack of dawn. Take picture ID and dress for comfort. But enjoy every minute....It's something not everyone gets to do. It will amaze you when you see how fast they go up and down those little stairs and your hanging on for dear life as you go up and down. I'm jealous...I wish I were going again.....If you see someone named CROWELL...tell Mo her Mom said hello
