Hi I'm new to this group. I'm originally from Maryland as is my son that is a submariner stationed in Hawaii. I was back in Rockville a few weeks ago visiting him & my other son while he was on leave. I miss my home state but enjoy the Fl weather!
Just looking for closer friends.
Hi Linda, welcome to the life of a Navy mom. Good luck to your son. I'm from Maryland now living in FL, my son is stationed in Hawaii for another year & half. I was just up in Rockville visiting him for a few days while he was on leave.

- Sorry it took so long to answer. I haven't been on the site for a few months, at least since they got back in port. Sound like your Stephen is doing better in the girlfriend department then my Stephen. Mine met someone who I will refer to as a "Boat Bunny". I had forgotten about all the stories about girls in ports. They are alive and well and after a military man. He brought her home. We weren't impressed. 'Nuff said about that. Keep in touch!

- Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've been on. I got to see my son when he came home to MD for leave after getting back from deployment. He looks great! his girlfriend is going to move in with him in Hawaii in October. I'm very excited for them

We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!

This is our son's first WESTPAC and he's excited we're coming out. I can't wait to talk to him in person. It seems that things are always breaking down on the boat and he has really been working very long hours. In fact in Yoko he never even got off the boat. I've been very thankful for the phone tree and Alecia. She's an angel and I hope I can meet her to personally thank her for all the time she has given to Chicago families. I hope I can met your son at homecoming. Mike said he and his crew will probably be the last people off the boat and he won't have much free time. He thinks he will be vacation time in July. His grandpa has terminal cancer and I hope Mike can come home to see his grandpa before he passes. I'll keep in touch. We are leaving in a few days

Where does your son work on the boat. Mine's a nuke. Please keep in touch and let us know what happens. This is so hard to believe that there is no suport for our kids when they are out to sea.

I'm so glad you got in touch with me. Yes, my husband and I are going to the homecoming. Are you going also? I just read your blog and am so very sorry that this has happened to your son. I agree that this is tragic that the police won't do anything. Did you call Alecia to see if she could give you any advice? i know that this is pretty late, I wonder if the navy has navel police to go to for help. Please write back soon. We are going out in a few days. Cookie

- I meant to ask, what area does your son live in. My daughter has a condo in Mililani but it's a secured development. I was just there for 15 days & saw that there are some areas that are less than desirable. Does your son have renters insurance?
