PROUD MOM MOMENTS:
*May 6, 2008, Monday, My son, Jan (Yahn), went into the Navy
*June 27, 2008, Friday - (PIR, Pass In Review) Boot Camp Graduation in IL!! Hooray! He was with DIV 235, Ship 07
*July 20, 2008, Sunday - Jan was accepted into the Ceremonial Guard and will be leaving for DC on July 23, 2008 - just 2 days before his birthday!
*November 21, 2008 - Ceremonial Guard Boot Camp graduation. YaY!
*Jan. 20, 2009: He was a member of the Joint Services Honor Cordon at the Presidential Inauguration. He was inside the Capitol as one of the guards in the Crypt (lots of people saw him on TV). Then he was the 3rd from the top on the right side when the President was standing on the steps of the Capitol as former Pres. Bush flew away and President Obama viewed the troops marching by. After that he stood at the door at the White House which the Pres. and the dignitaries exited from to walk to the parade viewing platform. THEN, that evening, he attended the Commander-In-Chief Ball and got to see the Obama's again. What a magical day it was for him.Hoo Yah GO NAVY

Thanks Carole for the recommendations. I told my husband that I would go on in early and let him run to get the girls at the airport. What flags are there (I assume it's evident) that he should have his photo with? Are they on the wall, in posts? American? State? CG? LOL... like I said, I guess it will be evident, but till I am there... I am sooo excited, it's been three months since I have seen him and it feels like forever. Thanks for being a friend. Karen P.

Hey Carole,
Long time I know, how have you been? I'm hangin in there. We are busy at work, back to school eye exams. We had a great time in DC over Mem. Day, we had Shawn 2 days. We got to see Arlington, said it was cool to see it like that. He just does his services and leaves, so it meant even more to us to experience it together like that. All in all awesome to see him. He was home on leave July 8- July 20. He came for my mom's family reunion and to visit with his buddy and wife that are in the Army, to be deployed this friday for 15 months. UGH. He has started his paperwork for Seabees to start A school in Jan. or Feb depending on when classes start?? So excited he will be closer to home, he will be in Miss. and us in Texas. Yeah, my husband has family in Miss. and Florida, so good places to visit him and alot closer!. Anyway take care, hope all is well with Jan. What is his next assignment and when?
Take care,
Sharon
