Dear Carolyn,
Thank you so much for your kind words. I have a feeling you will get your letters tommorrow. I forgot where you live, but I think I am closer to Great Lakes.
I was happy that Jason sounded like himself in the letter. It sounded like he had privacy, which made his writng seem authentic. I read the letters to a few close people, and we all were encouraged. Jason's father is deceased, and so I don't have him to share it with. I think other parents have an understanding that friends cannot quite comprehend. Let me know how you make out tommorrow,
Sincerely,
joyce

Hi Carolyn, welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy for 2 years and is an IT3 & my future son-in-law Tim has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz. What will your son be doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your recruit. Pat

Guide for Recruit's Family regarding Boot Camp

My son left for Boot Camp on July 21st. After receiving his phone call at 11:00pm and hearing yelling in the background I couldn't sleep so I surfed the net for information on what to expect in Boot Camp. Thank goodness I found this website and all of your wonderful Moms who shared their information with newbys like me! Even though I still have a knot in my stomach I can sleep now and feel better about him being there. I have started writing letters to mail once I get his address.
I also found a… Continue
