Hi Celeste, i am sorry your trip got canceled, but it usually works out for a reason. I would like to meet you if you do get to houston. wow those are great pictures. Our air show is schedualed for Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. I am not sure who is featured this year, I think the Canadian Snowbirds were last year. They are so pretty in the sky. We work with the ROTC units booth, and have done so for the past nearly 10 years. It is hard work, but it benifits the kids unit. Havent heard from my son in the last few days, i guess he has been busy. I am glad the trip got cancelled, he will be home for Christmas at least. Dont know about next year tho. My folks are planning on coming down also to see the new baby and i want to get a 4 generation picture, if i could only get my other daughter here too. If they get leave and can afford it, they are planning on going to Minn. to see his folks. I thought about next year, but then Michael will be gone so i cant win. Hope you are doing great, and maybe we will get that coffee sometime.

Great photo of the jets, especially the refueling. My pics of the jets are nothing like these. You must have a great camera. Good photo of the jets being stopped with the arresting gear (that's what my son was doing during the air show--his job.) Handsome sailor you have there!

I dont have a clue what OS is, but from what i understood is that everyone does kp duty. My daughter is on the Leyte Gulf and she had to do it too. for 90 days. She is haveing her wedding ceremony the end of july. Michael's duty should be over this week and i know he is going to be so happy. I know that eveyone has to do somthings that they dont understand why, but its all part of their training and they do learn something from it wether they realize it or not. Let me know if you are getting over this way the end of july and maybe we can get coffee, would like that. i work m - f, 5 am to 2pm at lowes. so maybe after i get off work? sounds good.

Celeste, glad to see you are in Baton Rouge. So you are used to the military life with family members that have been in. My son is a military brat, his dad retired with 25 years in the Coast Guard, little different when are kids are in, huh? My son has been in the Navy now for 10 years, just signed up last year for more years. I figure he is probably career navy now. He is stationed in the states for about 3 years and then most likely back on a ship. Good to hear from you. Steph

They have a gift shop there too... :) Next time we will do the tour .So if you do it please post what you saw and how it was. Thanks. And have a ball. Wear your sneekers. No open toe shoes on the ship.

Hi Celeste,
Sorry It has taken time to say hello. I am new to all of this and I am just finding my way. I see your son graduated from A school. Does that mean he is flying now? My son is an IT guy. He loves those computers. My hubby has family in Louisiana not too far from you. Have you spoke with your son lately? I did again last night. He didn't sound too good. He says he's tired but over all he likes it. Thank God for that! Anyway just wanted to say hi and hope you have a great day

HI celeste,
I'm sorry you couldn't make the lunch with the other moms! We'll have to plan a day to meet- that would be great. We had a wonderful lunch - it was so nice to meet other moms and talk about our sailors! Things have been pretty quiet with the group lately- I guess everyone is busy. Maybe we could meet in Henderson or somewhere in between where you are and I'm in Youngsville. Take care!

Celeste, we did NOT meet in Lake Charles on Saturday. A couple of mom's meet in Lafayette. The Lafayette mom's sent out the two post below that Meloney personally invited you on March 24th and on March 31st. I did not get to go because we had rehersal to sing at Passover on Sunday. I am leaving for Alaska this weekend to meet my first grandchild so I won't have another one in Lake Charles until May or June. But I created a discussion for each city so people that live in a city can just meet for lunch on their own. Suzanne sent an invitation to all members. I am not sure how you missed it or the comments below. I didn't organise this event, but I think they tried to leave messages on each persons page. I get an email when people leave messages on my page or groups. If you don't check your settings (under emails) that will alert you and also in Louisiana mom's that you check follow
