She should be able to order uniform shoes through the Navy Exchange web page at: https://www.navy-nex.com/. The log-in is SSN-based so she'd have to order them herself 8nless you have another authorized patron in the family. If that doesn't work ...

I'm getting excited to see my Mid for Thanksgiving! We are driving down to Orlando and he is flying down to meet us. I am following the advice of the university's parents association so we will just relax and give him time to rest and get ready fo...

Centhea replied to Jane's discussion 'NROTC- WHAT TO DO NEXT?' in the group NROTC
He was awarded the scholarship to Georgia Tech, but then didn't get accepted to Georgia Tech. I don't believe it made any difference to UT or GT that he already had the NROTC scholarship, even though you would think it would make a difference beca...

Centhea replied to Jane's discussion 'NROTC- WHAT TO DO NEXT?' in the group NROTC
Jane: First, congratulations!!!! Your son had to list five colleges on the scholarship application and the application states that he is strongly encouraged to apply to all five schools. My son also applied OOS to Texas and Georgia Tech with GT a...

I went through that too but eventually, life got busy and I stopped checking every day. When I finally found out, it had been several days since I'd checked. A watched pot never boils, ya know? The holidays are coming up and you'll be busy and the...

They go for NAVSCI classes/drill on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. MW is 0800-0915 and Friday is earlier, I think it's 0600-0915 because they do PT or some event as a battalion on Fridays. It's hard for the freshmen to get around because they don't...

Thanks, Hanksmom! That's very sweet of you. Where does your son want to go to college? James attends college at Maryland and NROTC at GWU but he's told me that their platoon at Maryland is very close-knit and he really prefers being at Maryland de...

My son got a scholarship and he had a 3.59. His SATs were 680 Math and 590 Verbal, taken early in junior year (I could not convince him to retake them, lol).

Haha...Daria, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. It was a shock to me a couple years ago when they announced a survey said that the most popular family activity on Thanksgiving day was...playing video games! (And we're a big video game family, ...

I'm surprised your son's uniform still fits! My daughter has lost 5lbs and says her pants are starting to fall down. I just wanted to say how thankful I am for young men like your son who see women like my daughter as shipmates first and women second. Good job, Mom! Some of Sarah's closest friends are young men from her Jr. ROTC unit and she is now forming the same type of friendships based on mutual respect and common interests in her ROTC unit at Mizzou. I am so glad that there is a place for her to serve in today's Navy!
