Enjoy your time with your kids at Thanksgiving. We don't get to see our daughter until Christmas, but she is going to spend time with some family who have offered to pick her up and take her back to school. But I'm very depressed.
You are all so fortunate to get to see your kids. I won't get to see my daughter until semester break in December. It's really hard because she is so homesick, and there isn't anything I can do. So all you moms out there, count your blessings!
With my daughter, I kept checking the scholarship website to see if any progress had been made!! That helped a little, since I could watch the progress. I know the waiting is awful, but get used to it - it's out of your control!! I think it was on...
you are so lucky to be able to go to Parents' weekend. Reading how everyone is visiting their kids is making me very sad.
One piece of good news: our daughter made the color guard team!
Just to put things in perspective: I'm sure you are disappointed in not spending time with your daughter, but I won't get to see my daughter until December when she comes home for semester break. 2,000 miles is just too far for a "visit". So - I w...
From what they told us at Tulane, they said that you can go UP a tier - in other words, my daughter is a biology major (tier 2). She can go into engineering (tier 1) or another science or math major (tier 2), but not into a liberal arts type major...
Susan: your story touched my heart. My daughter is at Tulane in her freshman year. The first day after she finished her first "orientation", she called home in hysterics, saying that she has made a big mistake, she couldn't handle it, etc. PT has ...

A place for past, present and future mom's of NROTC students to exchange information and support. And of course- a place for family members, friends, and others to gather general info about Navy ROTC and officer programs. Welcome everybody !!
Every unit is different so I can't say for sure, but I think if she has made it this far, she'll do just fine. The hard part is behind her. When you have time and if you are comfortable doing so, I would love to hear how your daughter made her way to NROTC and Tulane. I have a heart for young women and love to hear their stories. One of my favorite quotes is, "Here's to good women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them."
Welcome to our group! My daughter is in the NROTC program at the University of Missouri. I'd love to hear more about you and your daughter. Tulane is a long way from CA! I see on your profile that you were "concerned or afraid" when you heard "Navy". If you still are, I hope we can help you with that.
